not now kelly . . . I need to re-write my thesis!
1/ We discovered something totally unexpected about the neural structure of consciousness that overturns decades of thinking on its biological basis and brings us significantly closer to the recipe for generating conscious awareness.

100%. The "early days", and I don't know if anyone remembers this, but subscriptions did not have usage limits once upon a time.
Those were the days where I learned that treating everything as a playground would propel your learning of how to use all this AI stuff by leaps and bounds.

My daughters and I are reading The Beginning of Infinity together, about 5-10 pages a day, then we talk about it.
To help the ideas stick, I've been turning each few chapters into a song and a video. This one covers chapters 4 to 6: where the knowledge in living things comes from, why 641 being prime is as real as a domino, and how one small change to a system (an alphabet, ten digits, a machine that reads its own cards) suddenly lets it reach everything.
I wrote the lyrics with Claude, Suno sang them, and Claude animated the rest.

Because it’s popular now (thanks to @nickcammarata’s amazing write up), a post I made on LessWrong over a year ago highlighting interpretability as the best path to alignment: lesswrong.com/posts/DBn83cvA…

“One of the biggest mental unlocks to start reaping the benefits of AI, is realizing that an app is basically just a database with a visual interface”
this was obvious before AI

Yeah, because "it" is a lot more than just SQL CRUD. I'm not disagreeing just asserting that it's an oversimplification.

If that was the issue we would have just hired more people who know how to write sql and we wouldn't have spend so much time and money building interfaces.
The app encapsulates for more than MVC.

I'd keep the interface for anything you need to scan, 40 rows don't fit well in a chat reply

Beautiful new piece of hardware added to the @Square lineup today: Kiosk.
Perfect combo of hardware, software and intelligence.
+ the custom Kiosk typeface was made entirely from the hardware form factor. Such a nice detail.

More room for your people.
We’ve lifted the limit on how many communities you can create in Buzz. Start one for your team, your side project, or that thing you could talk about for hours.
square kiosk!
this is a big one (literally).
physical intelligence for any size of food establishment.
we made a kiosk. we made it really smart. you can talk to it if you want. and it looks pretty good too.

I’m using Hermes (@NousResearch) to move my entire Mac mini setup to my old M3 Pro MacBook over SSH via Tailscale. It’s handling the migration itself.
Hermes, @buzzdotxyz and @MulticaAI , including sessions, memory, skills, repos, databases and Docker images. Not just a fresh install.
Since I bought the new M5 Pro, the M3 Pro is available. I’d rather put it to work than buy another Mac mini. Going from the M2 mini with 8GB to the M3 Pro with 18GB.
The transfer is still running, and the mini stays active until we’ve tested the switch.
Curious how smoothly this works, and how the MacBook handles being an always-on host. I’ll report back tomorrow.
Might repurpose the mini as an agent host for my co-founder next.
At the start of this year, I bought a used Mac mini M2 with 8GB RAM for around $300.
I’d worked with AI before, but that little machine got me into building and working with agentic systems. Today, the consulting work I built around those skills brings in $4–6k a month.
I bring those same skills into immoautomation too. Somehow, I found work I genuinely enjoy without changing jobs.
Now it’s time to retire the little Mac mini.
I’m flying back today after 15 days with family and friends in Vienna, with a new MacBook M5 Pro with 24GB RAM. My old M3 Pro with 18GB will take over as my always-on home machine.
The mini handled everything well. I just haven’t used a MacBook for this before.
Anyone running a MacBook as a home server? Any tips for keeping it plugged in and running 24/7?

I live on a farm beneath a volcano in Nagano, Japan. I built MiCasa for the work my household actually needs AI to do.
It’s a fork of @buzzdotxyz by @blocks, bringing together personal AI twins, family memory, ongoing tasks, sensor insights, hazard alerts, shared compute and approved payments.
Thanks @jack and the Buzz team for the foundation.
This is Sovereign Intelligence for the household, running on a Mac mini and coming soon to more homes across Japan.
Here’s how it works in our home, and why yours would use it differently.

@Hello_World / @buzzdotxyz - is there a home for community-built tools? I have this and another one (openwebui acp bridge) and would love feedback especially in shared team setups.
