2nd to the last paragraph is the most significant thing said in this tweet.
If you're not worked up about Uber taking 40 something percent of *YOUR* fare you're in the wrong game.
*ALL* Uber is doing is connecting you to the pax which a fare cut is between 5 and 10%
Your Uber to the airport this morning cost $207.15.
Your driver (me) earned $73.02, or $51.84 after vehicle expenses.
Uber kept $86.52, or 42% of your fare, AFTER insurance, taxes, and other fees.
$86.52 > $73.02.
Uber (software) kept more for arranging the trip than it paid me to drive 60 miles over 74 minutes.
Here’s what makes this interesting. I’m a data guy and I’ve driven this exact airport trip about 190 times over the past few years. Passengers usually pay around $123, and Uber typically keeps 20%.
Today, you paid $84 more than usual. There was nothing in the app explaining the higher price. You just happened to pay significantly more for the same trip, and Uber kept most of that difference.
I’m not complaining about the $73 fare.
I’m pointing out how the system works.
Blows my mind people are still driving for #Uber and #Lyft. Are people just simply not looking at the numbers? They're driving just to get outta the house and do something? I don't get it.
I can't be the only one whose found that #DoorDash #Grubhub and UberEats was a lot more $

I'd say both are legit approaches. I just keep thinking if this is even accurate though... 20%?! #uber
They've been doing that for over a decade. Lyft and Uber the same. And they'll continue to do it till the end of time because people keep driving for them. (enabling)
Drivers switch over to DoorDash and practically any other app, watch how quick they come to their knees.
Moot point. It's not happening and if you're banking on this you're a fool.
Did you get your tariff check? Why would you expect the US Government to come through on this?
Congress has to approve this & w/ midterms coming up... good luck.

If you get a $5000 direct deposit from Trump what’re you gonna do with the money?
Have a single mother friend who quit Meijier for #doordash and was making way more money.
Her car just blew a head gasket and now she's not only out dashing, but doesn't have a car for everyday living. Ex-husband trashed her credit score; doesn't help either.
Gotta save guys!
Just had a friend quit Meijer and start #doordash. Says she's making way more money. And we're in a small town.
Not shocking.

An Uber Eats driver went viral after claiming her tips increased when she started subtly including her feet in delivery confirmation photos.
She said the unusual trick led to bigger tips, turning a routine delivery photo into an unexpected strategy.
One of these days #Uber is going to start putting a surcharge (for the driver, not the pax) on and take an additional % from every fare based on, well you're not really driving so... We need more money.
Watch it happen!
