For the first time, we have identified 1) a biological role of ADO AND 2) unexpected mechanism of essentiality that is unique to cancer cells.

A study led by Dr.@MKoritzinsky @UHN found that an enzyme, ADO, is critical to keep the balance between the production and elimination of reactive oxygen species in cancer cells, protecting them from oxidative stress.
