Early this morning, ICE agents raided Omarโs home in Washington, D.C., ostensibly in search of immigration documents, including paperwork that her late father filed when she was just a child.

Trump is now directing his jackbooted thugs to carry out politically motivated raids on his enemies based on fully fabricated allegations. This is a blatant targeting of Omar because she is an outspoken critic of this regime and, more importantly to the bigoted MAGA base, sheโs a Black woman, a Muslim, and an immigrant. They are frothing at the mouth over the prospect of harming her.
This is the kind of thing that you see in crumbling democracies right before the fascists make a concerted effort to permanently seize power. While we canโt say for sure that this tactic will spread, this normalizes sham raids on Democratic politicians and opens the door to a sweeping campaign of state-sponsored terror. Trump knows that heโs headed into an electoral wipeout in the midterms and so heโs desperately reaching deep into the authoritarian playbook.
Expect the administration to push for denaturalizing and deporting Omar next, a longstanding dream of the white nationalist movement. They want to remove every last non-white, non-Christian person from this country but before they can do that they need to demonstrate an ability to strip away citizenship.
Omar isnโt intimidated. Neither can we be. This is the canary in the coal mine. Itโs time to take to the streets en masse.

Greetings from Athens to the UK Alliance for Palestine. Kudos to all of you for continuing to mobilise against our generationโs greatest crime, our generationโs genocide in Gaza and the systematic state-backed ethnic cleansing and ruthless land seizures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
As I have said before, if this were the 1930s, we would have only one moral duty: to defend Jewish people from the Nazis. Today, we again have only one moral duty: to defend Palestinian people from Israel.
Friends, I am not going to finish this message of solidarity by caressing your ears. I am going to do the opposite. At the risk of upsetting you, I am going to suggest that we stop congratulating ourselves. So far, we have failed. The genocide, the ethnic cleansing, the white-washing of this centuryโs greatest crime is continuing despite our efforts.
Our governments remain utterly complicit. Even when they do some windowdressing, like Andy Burnham sanctioning exports from the Occupied Territories (as if Israel will brand them as such!), they only do it to ENSURE that there is no trade and arms embargo against Israel to force Israel to cease and desist from its genocidal practices. What PM Burnham has done was to take the wind out of our sails by lulling the majority into thinking that there has been a change when there hasnโt been.
Look at the way the media are still at it. Copying the playbook that demonised and vilified Jeremy Corbynโs leadership of the Labour Party, for โinsufficient support of Israelโs genocideโ, they are applying the same playbook today against Zack Polanski and the Green Party.
Wherever we look โ if we are honest โ we see the evidence of our movementโs failure to dent Israelโs determination to complete its genocide and of our political and economic systemโs to lend the Apartheid state a hand.
I know: Many of you are tired, after years of campaigning often at high personal cost. But now is not the time to feel the fatigue. Now is the time to do more. To do better. To end genocide, ethnic cleansing and land seizures across Palestine. To make it possible to imagine โ not just as a slogan โ a Palestine free of Apartheid.
