On #WomensVeteransDay we recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of all women Veterans. There are nearly 44,000 women Veterans who call Michigan home, and we are proud to work alongside many on #TeamMDOC. This picture, taken in 2019, showcases just a few of our heroes.
Whether disguised as male soldiers during the Revolution or serving as combat pilots in Afghanistan, women veterans have served the US through its history. Gov. Whitmer has proclaimed June 12 as Women Veterans Recognition Day in Michigan: bit.ly/3hhIXWV

I’m grateful for my job and that during these times I am still able to work. But I am so grateful and so proud of my husband who is fighting this first hand. If you are home with your loved ones, hold them tight while we kiss ours through glass.
