‼️ Neera Tanden is completely oblivious to her own behavior and words. She's ignoring her own behavior of aligning with the Republicans, which they're weaponizing against the Democrats, and projecting it onto @hasanthehun. She also repeated the rumor that Abdul El-Sayed told him to "tamp down", something Hasan himself confirmed is a lie.
Neera: You and I probably disagree on Hasan Piker. I think the things he has said are both morally wrong and strategically terrible. She said agents in plain clothes refused to say what agency they were with, then went door to door seeking footage. At the hospital, she said, NYPD officers shoved crowds trying to stop an unmarked vehicle. One shoved her to the ground as she sought to de-escalate, footage shows.

In school, whenever we learned about horrific war crimes, genocide, or occupation, it was always followed by a discussion on how society could have allowed these atrocities to occur and how nothing like that could happen now.
Over the past 59 years, we have watched the occupation of Palestine, with the past 3 years having a genocide be live-streamed before our eyes.
And yet we have still remained silent.
There is literally no excuse for anyone to continue to choose silence.
Art itself is a form of resistance; it was never meant to be apolitical. Music's earliest history is storytelling and battle cries.
Artists like Ed, who argue that their fans don’t want to hear about “politics” and just want to disassociate, don’t even realize they are pointing out the exact problem.
We, as a society, have always chosen to disassociate, especially when we aren’t the ones directly impacted. And THAT is exactly how society allowed all the atrocities in our textbooks to occur.
