🧐NEW: In a surprise move, the Home Office is tonight having to have to re-issue its migration reform document because of how critical numbers are presented.
In the "Government Response to the Consultation" Annex A suggests that the forecast for number of people who will settle under the new plan is now 1.9 million (compared to 1.6 million in the equivalent doc a year ago). This is the only place in the document where the 1.9 million figure appears.
But I've been told this 1.9 million is a new +forecast+, but pre-changes. The Home Office says the fresh forecast combined with the impact of today's proposed changes is 500,000 lower - so 1.4 million.
The Home Office say it's confusingly written and that is why they are reissuing the document.
This makes me happy

What a superb World Cup. Two places I’d now like to visit one day are Cape Verde 🇨🇻 and The British territory of The Falkland Islands 🇫🇰.
Enjoy the final today, Spain. An honourable team with a fanbase who have behaved with the class and dignity the beautiful game deserves. 👍🏻

One day, a politician will have the bollocks to say in public what they're quite happy to say when the microphone is off, and that is this. The Triple lock is unaffordable and must go. We all know it. And I say that as someone who in four years would benefit from it.

I absolutely love that the failed hate campaign that was launched against 18 year old Luke Littler a few days ago has spectacularly backfired, a sign of the times that shite like that just doesn’t fly anymore with young successful sports personalities who are slated for essentially being elite at what they do.

Failed to close down their key players, but pretty faultless in the first and final third of the game. Good decision to rest half the team for final 30.
Gutsy performance at a ground we never win at without 🏹 #pnefc
