I know people who clung onto the Labour Party in the slim chance that after Keir Starmer things might have been different.
Labour consistently revealing there's absolutely no plan for change. The puurpose is to maintain power & wealth for the super rich.

Personally, I would be more inclined to sell gilts if Burnham DOESN’T appoint Miliband as chancellor as it would signal that he doesn’t have an economic plan, blows with the wind, and has turned his most powerful and capable ally into a potentially bitter colleague…
Replying to @Simon_Nixon @andrew_lilico
You are spot on, and I agree. But two issues. Firstly there is a lag between appointment and action (assuming Oct Budget) and so in the absence you would price off revealed behaviour (not vibes) which when it comes to the energy brief (in post, and advocacy in opposition) has been highly inflationary. Second, you are spot on regarding the oil price as I noted here: xitter.cf/Frencheconomics/status… Oil prices are the far bigger determinant right now of yields. Only one of oil prices and the Chx identity, however, do we have any sovereign control over mind you....

If Yvette Cooper or Shabana Mahmood become Chancellor, the Greens should be very happy.
It’ll inject a fundamental incoherence into Burnham premiership - when clean lines between vision, policy and comms have never been more important.
Labour don’t learn.
If Burnham does fail to appoint Miliband as chancellor, it suggests he’ll be just as ineffective and rudderless as Starmer when it comes to giving the UK a new national narrative and restoring pride. Here’s my piece this week arguing why: independent.co.uk/voices/mil…
Me for @IndyVoices: Having hoofed Starmer all the way to the back benches, Burnham now has a brief window to set out a transformative new narrative for our increasingly fractious country. Devolution is nice, but it ain't it. independent.co.uk/voices/mil…
A thriving green economy, infused with the same bold ingenuity that drove Britain’s Victorian pioneers, can chart the course for the next national adventure we so urgently need.

Went to report on a @TheGreenParty rally in Hastings yesterday. It was disrupted by someone with a megaphone while others unfurled a Reform flag and a St George's cross. Then another man gave a Nazi salute. Police told me this evening he's been arrested: independent.co.uk/news/uk/ho…

NEW: Something remarkable happened recently and hardly anyone noticed – GB electricity demand was 100% covered by clean power
We took a look at the data and this has happened for a record 87 hours in 2025 to date, twice as often as ever before

Not sure what's more terrifying, the state jailing people for 5 years for planning non-violent protest, or the scale of climate denial.
This is the same day Starmer eulogised the European Court of Human rights... which protects right to peaceful protest theguardian.com/environment/…

It was a bad look when British Cycling took Shell's polluter dollar, its much worse since the oil giant ditched climate targets and doubled down on putting profits before life and health... Good work from @BrandalismUK

Found this interesting, so tried a slightly different set up in Bing's Copilot with GPT4. It got the answer right, but then carried on going...
