It’s bad enough we stand on the precipice of climate collapse, it’s far worse that the advertising industry is helping to push us over the edge. The new A-Z of Badvertising from the Ministry for the Climate Emergency (via @crisortunity & myself) spells out how they're doing it👇
The Ministry for the Climate Emergency presents the A-Z of Badvertising, a new public information campaign that reveals the dirty tricks used by the ad industry to promote highly polluting products and lifestyles.🤥🛢️ 👉Learn more at badverts.org/campaign-update…

It’s not normal in the middle of a health and climate crisis to actively promote highly polluting products that make things worse. Congratulations to Bristol which has just become the latest UK city to end ads for things like fossil fuels, flights & SUVs bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cmly…

🚨 Pressure continues to build on Fifa to keep players, fans and workers safe amidst extreme weather. Beyond appropriate heat safety measures, that means no longer promoting Aramco - the world's largest fossil fuel company. 💰💨 ft.com/content/3b3776b6-1f9f…

I have signed a letter to the Government, alongside over 100 MPs, calling for the UK to urgently reopen and scale up medical evacuations for critically ill children in Gaza.  We cannot ignore the scale of suffering. The war has devastated Gaza's health system and thousands of children are trapped without access to life-saving treatment. The UK has a moral duty to act.

👉🏼 “Until we place physical reality ahead of political expediency, we will continue to fail on Paris. And failing on Paris means failing future generations. The maths is unforgiving.”
Quelle surprise: my comment on the Govt's latest climate commitment gov.uk/government/news/energ… is out of step, at least publicly, with many colleagues: sciencemediacentre.org/exper… With expert whitewash on one side & charlatans on the other, an honest climate debate stands no chance.
