Healthy families are the cornerstone of a strong America.
Today at @Nationwidekids, I joined @RepMikeCarey, and @HRSAgov leadership to highlight how investments in the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program are helping support healthy pregnancies, child development, and families.
This Child Health Day, ADM Engels joined Sen. Husted & Rep. Carey at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio to announce $525M in Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program awards — the largest federal investment in the program’s history.

A landmark five-year study by Child Trends found that SC First Steps' Parents as Teachers home visiting program reduces child maltreatment, boosts kindergarten readiness, and strengthens parenting skills, especially for families enrolled longer. This Children's Awareness Month, we're proud to share what happens when we invest in families from the very beginning. Learn more at bit.ly/4baEJxR

I’m extremely grateful to Bloomington native and Brightpoint Vice President of Early Childhood Development, Mendy Smith, for testifying at today’s @WaysandMeansGOP Work & Welfare Subcommittee hearing on the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program.
Her advocacy and expertise is invaluable to the members of our committee as we look at ways to strengthen the MIECHV program.
This program builds upon decades of research that proves home visits by trained professionals during pregnancy and in the first years of a child’s life help prevent child abuse, improve maternal health, and promote child development.

The Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program (MIECHV) is a top priority for me, and it has a long history in Indiana's Second District. My predecessor Jackie Walorski was a tireless champion for this program.
Since 2011, nearly 16,000 Indiana families have received almost 400,000 home visits through MIECHV.

It was a pleasure to have Shemya Wilson, a Parent Ambassador for @changentorg, before the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Work and Welfare today to talk about the importance of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Education Home Visiting (MIECHV) program. MIECHV is an evidence-based program that provides voluntary home visiting services to children and families at risk of adverse outcomes. During our conversation, Shemya provided resources for more Central Ohioans to see if they qualify for MIECHV services.

Home visiting programs deliver real, tangible results for mothers, babies, and young families. That’s why I’ve been proud to support the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting programs at the federal level, including introducing a resolution in April to highlight the positive impact these programs have on childhood development.
It was a privilege to meet with advocates from Changent, Nurse-Family Partnership, and Child First at the Capitol to talk about my continued efforts to support families and the home visitors who provide care and critical resources to parents and children.
