Our 2027 proposed budget is now available on our website and a hard copy of the document is available to review at our main office building (62 Plaza Drive).
The proposed budget includes rate adjustments necessary to help cover rising operating costs and investments in our water treatment plant, water storage and delivery systems, and replacement of aging infrastructure. These investments help ensure the district can continue meeting our community's water needs, maintain reliable service, and plan for the future.
If adopted, the rate changes would increase bills by 6.7%. This equates to an average increase of $7.75 per month for single-family customers. The proposed rate increases would go into effect the first full billing cycle after Jan. 1, 2027. Learn more at highlandsranchwater.org/fina…
You can provide feedback any time prior to the final adoption on Dec. 8. Feedback can be sent via email to [email protected] or mailed to Highlands Ranch Water, Attn: Director of Finance & Administration, 62 Plaza Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129.
What does clean water mean to you? For #ImagineADayWithoutWater, we asked members of our community this very question. From our health and daily routines to the things we often take for granted, clean water plays an essential role in our lives.
Outdoor water budgets end TODAY, Oct. 15. As we transition into the cooler months, it's time to turn off your sprinklers and begin winterizing your irrigation system. Customers will continue to receive 1,000 gallons of water per billing period for supplemental outdoor watering throughout the winter. Please note that any water use exceeding your budget after Oct. 15 will result in higher charges.
A friendly reminder: Stage 1 drought restrictions remain in effect. Please continue doing your part to conserve water by reducing use by 15-20%.

Effective Immediately: Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Lifted in Douglas County
After evaluating fire and fuel conditions, as well as current weather and forecasts, Sheriff Darren Weekly has decided to rescind Stage 1 Fire restrictions in unincorporated Douglas County, including the City of Castle Pines and the Town of Larkspur, effective immediately.
While restrictions are no longer in place, we remind all residents and visitors that fire safety is a year-round responsibility. Please continue to practice caution with outdoor fires, campfires, outdoor equipment, and disposal of smoking materials.
Thank you to our community for your cooperation in keeping Douglas County safe!
#TBT to 2021, when consecutive years of #drought and low reservoir storage prompted our team to develop our first formal Drought Response Plan. Five years later, that plan is helping guide our response to the drought conditions we are experiencing today. It has once again provided a roadmap for making difficult decisions today while looking ahead to help protect stored water supplies for our community.
As we look back on 45 years of our history, we invite you to read the full story on how our Drought Response Plan was developed and why it is needed. highlandsranchwater.org/2021…
