Couldn’t believe my luck this morning, three otters (mum and two pups) in Thurso! 🦦🦦🦦 Stayed with them until the hail came, such beautiful animals!
They were joined by two more otters! 🦦🦦 Definitely a record for me! (1/2)

Over the moon as I just saw my first OTTERS at Sneekermeer! 🥹📷 - Took me a while to realise the squeaks coming from the reeds were no funny Coot noise. In hindsight, I've heard them at this place before, but simply never realised it. Won't happen again. 📷😅
Probably offering this to a saturated market, but I have a couple of invite codes for 🟦sky if anyone still needs them?

After moving to the 'Sneekermeer' in 2022, I got to live my first full annual cycle in this part of Friesland in 2023. Across two local patches I managed to see a combined total of 155 bird species, and came up with a personal assessment of local rarities/specialties. 1/3
Lekker bezig!
Moving from Tharandt to Landau. Never nice to say goodbye to the good colleagues of @SoilTUD, but looking forward to my new postdoc position at @rptu_kl_ld in Landau. In the coming years I will continue to study dynamics in soil carbon and nutrient contents in @EJP_C_arouNd
Nice field trip today around Natura 2000 areas in central Fryslân. Though we were not looking for them, we recorded 6 birds of prey 🦅 Saw two white-tailed eagles, a peregrine falcon, some marsh harriers, a hen harrier, buzzard and a common kestrel. @provfryslan @staatsbosbeheer

Great start of the day thanks to @RichardLindsa16 #Power2Peatlands It’s clear we need a bit more intelligence and communication across the field to connect the dots between research, policymakers and land managers.

Advice to those working in R for their PhD: make sure to include annotations in your code. My almost 3-year old scripts are still working with new data, and I know what they do 😍 #CodeRedundancy #phdlife
