False dilemma: A logical fallacy in which an either/or proposition is set up when there are actually more options available. False equivalence: A logical fallacy in which two things with an apparent similarity are compared, but in a way that ignores important differences for the purposes of making an argument. Slippery slope: An argument that makes the claim that a relatively small first step will set off a chain reaction leading to disastrous, unavoidable results. Straw man: It's used when someone appears to be refuting or knocking down an argument when they're actually refuting an argument that is easy knock down, but doesn’t accurately represent the other side.
