Could familiar cryptocurrencies support faster everyday payments without changing their original networks?
Metallicus reports that BTCVM, LTCVM and DogecoinVM have entered alpha testing on Metal Blockchain, with working two-way bridges connecting dedicated Metal Layer 1 networks to Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin.
Once assets are bridged onto those Metal networks, testing has demonstrated payment finality of approximately 0.15–0.25 seconds. Deposits and withdrawals still follow the original networks’ confirmation processes.
Why it matters: this explores another way to use established digital assets for payments and settlement. It remains an alpha-stage development, with conservative limits while the technology matures.

Its not a hack. The funds have been recovered in each event. I would love to see any one of the other ecosystems that have experienced exploits like this say the same.

So my account was one of the accounts that got exploited. I just received my funds back. @MarshallHayner thank you and your team for your hard work.
It also looks like they’re turning everything back on. The lending platform and liquidations are turned back on according to my website alert.

What changes when a digital dollar expands to another blockchain?
On September 26, Metal Dollar (XMD) launched on Ethereum, extending beyond XPR Network with minting and redemption through the official Metal Dollar app.
Why does that matter? Availability on another network creates opportunities for XMD to reach more wallets, payment tools and decentralized applications. It gives developers another digital-dollar option to build around although individual integrations still need to be implemented.
For the Metallicus ecosystem, this is a concrete step toward digital-dollar infrastructure across multiple networks.
The takeaway: broader availability opens doors. Practical adoption comes from the useful services built around it.

This weekend @XPRNetwork faced what @paulgrey called “the most advanced enemy with the most advanced technology”. Today 10,732,951,536 ethereum:0xd7efb00d12c2c13131fd319336fdf952525da2af is staked, above all my counts since September. Did you add to your stake? 👇
When things are going well, it’s easy to speak about loyalty, integrity, and doing what’s right. Everyone seems to share the same values when the path ahead is clear.
But when confusion sets in, uncertainty grows, and circumstances become uncomfortable, you begin to see people differently.
Some become impatient. Some look for someone to blame. Some abandon the very principles they once spoke so passionately about. Others quietly continue showing up, asking questions, seeking understanding, and doing what they believe is right.
And oftentimes, the uncertainty reveals things about ourselves that we need to confront, too.
Character is found in those uncomfortable moments, in the decisions we make when emotions are high, answers are scarce, and the outcome is unknown.
Especially in crypto, where money can cloud judgment and fear can change behavior, those moments tell us far more about people than any promise ever could.
Pay attention to how people navigate uncertainty. Including yourself. There’s a lesson in both.

What changes when a digital dollar becomes available on another blockchain?
Metal Dollar (XMD) launched on Ethereum in September, expanding beyond XPR Network. Metallicus’s Q3 report confirms that users can mint and redeem XMD through the official Metal Dollar app on Ethereum.
The practical significance is broader network access: XMD now has a presence in Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem alongside XPR Network. This creates a foundation for additional wallet, exchange and payment integrations—each of which should be verified as it becomes available.
For newcomers, the takeaway is simple: the network a digital asset supports helps determine where it can be used.

Gears grinding, buzzing noises, Windows XP loading music? That could be your new A.I. coworker. No more stolen lunches. No last-minute meetings late on Fridays. No more dog eating your homework! (Wait what?!?) 🤪
XPR Agents, built on XPR Network, connects clients with AI agents through an on-chain job marketplace.
Post a job, review bids and fund the work. Payment sits in smart-contract escrow, with support for milestones, approval and dispute resolution because “trust me, boss” isn’t a payment policy.
Four connected contracts handle identity, reputation, independent output validation and job payments. Useful evidence, but no guarantee your digital coworker deserves Employee of the Month.
The takeaway: hiring AI help still needs clear expectations, work review and a payment process. Coffee breaks are optional.

What could faster Bitcoin, Litecoin and Dogecoin payments look like?
On September 29, Metal Blockchain announced alpha testing for BTCVM, LTCVM and DogecoinVM dedicated Layer 1 networks connected to their native chains through two-way bridges.
Once assets are on these Metal networks, early measurements show payment finality in fractions of a second. Deposits and withdrawals still require native-chain confirmations.
The potential: quicker checkout, tips and in-app payments. The distinction matters: this adds another place to transact; it does not change how the original chains operate.
This remains early testing. Deposits are capped, and the bridges have not yet been externally audited.

Decentralized infrastructure, verifiable identity, secure wallets, and transparent transactions become increasingly important as autonomous AI agents gain capabilities.
This is where networks like XPR Network become particularly relevant.
With feeless transactions, fast settlement, on-chain identity capabilities, and a focus on compliant financial infrastructure, XPR Network offers tools that could help support a financial system increasingly interacting with autonomous AI.
Now consider another emerging challenge: quantum computing.
As quantum technology advances, the cryptographic systems protecting today’s financial infrastructure could eventually become vulnerable. This makes the transition toward post-quantum cryptography increasingly important.
For XPR Network, becoming quantum-resistant would represent another significant layer of protection, helping safeguard digital identities, wallets, transactions, and financial assets against future threats.
The combination of AI-ready infrastructure, verifiable identity, and quantum-resistant security could become a major differentiator in the next generation of blockchain technology.
Imagine autonomous AI agents conducting transactions, managing digital assets, and interacting with financial services around the clock. Now imagine those systems operating in an environment where both AI-driven attacks and quantum computing threaten traditional security.
The need for accountability, transparency, and adaptable security becomes critical.
But blockchain isn’t automatically immune. Smart contracts, exchanges, and wallets could become targets. Security must evolve alongside technology.
The convergence of AI, quantum computing, and blockchain is accelerating. The networks preparing for these challenges today could become the financial infrastructure of tomorrow.
The question isn’t just what AI and quantum computing will be capable of.
It’s whether our financial infrastructure will be prepared.

AI can generate an answer but how do you identify an agent, evaluate its work and arrange payment?
XPR Agents, built by Proton NZ on XPR Network, brings those questions on-chain through four connected smart contracts:
• Identity: register agents and their capabilities.
• Reputation: record feedback from completed jobs.
• Validation: enable independent checks of an agent’s output.
• Escrow: hold job payments under defined rules, with milestone and dispute support.
For example, a client can post a task, select an agent’s bid and fund the work through escrow.
For builders and businesses, this provides tools for coordinating paid AI work with clearer records and accountability.
Reputation and validation offer evidence to assess not a guarantee that every result is correct.

Elon Musk's Tesla Roadster: Innovation or Just Another Expensive Promise?
I have to give Elon Musk credit. Whether you agree with him or not, he certainly knows how to get people talking and thinking about what's possible.
The technology being discussed for Tesla's Roadster is fascinating. But as a single parent raising a son who will become an adult in a world where AI and advanced technology are simply part of everyday life, I look at these innovations a little differently.
I'm excited about what the future holds for him. The opportunities to learn, create, and accomplish things we could only imagine growing up are incredible.
But I also wonder where we draw the line.
Just because we can build something doesn't always mean we should, especially when safety and responsibility are involved.
And let's not forget, the Roadster was introduced back in 2017. At some point, innovation has to move beyond impressive promises and become something real.
I want my son to grow up in a world where technology opens doors, not one where we're so caught up in what we can do that we forget to ask why we're doing it.
I'm all for pushing boundaries, but progress should mean more than putting on a good show.
What do you think? Are we witnessing the future of transportation, or are we becoming more impressed by technological spectacle than its actual purpose?

Fuel shortages and diesel at ~$6.28/gal are feeding inflation and keeping rate pressure high—classic short-term headwinds for risk assets like Bitcoin and broader crypto.
Energy costs also raise the bar for Proof-of-Work mining.
Metallicus is better positioned for this environment. XPR Network and Metal Blockchain run on Proof-of-Stake (Snowman consensus), so they’re far more energy-efficient than PoW chains and less exposed to fuel/electricity price spikes.
More importantly, Metallicus is building institutional digital-banking rails—stablecoins, digital dollars (Metal Dollar), wallets, identity, and real-time payments—for credit unions and banks. Ongoing pilots (including the CrossState program with 50 credit unions) and production examples like St. Cloud’s stablecoin + Bitcoin vaults show real utility for deposit retention and modern payments when traditional systems and fiat are under strain.
Zero gas fees, instant settlement, on-chain identity, and compliance focus (BSA/AML, FedNow) make the stack practical for regulated money movement rather than pure speculation.
In a world of persistent energy shocks and higher operating costs, energy-efficient PoS infrastructure plus bank/credit-union integration is a structural advantage. $XPR $METAL #Metallicus #XPRNetwork

Two contracts on @XPRNetwork were exploited on Saturday, ten hours apart. By Sunday morning the 1,143,288 USDC from the first one was back in @LOAN_Protocol, the attacker's remaining 7.21M ethereum:0xd7efb00d12c2c13131fd319336fdf952525da2af were locked, and the hole was patched. On most chains an exploit like this ends with the money bridged out and gone 👇
The attacker was software. The webauthn exploit made 67 accounts borrow on LOAN in a single transaction at 02:35:36 UTC and sent the USDC to the bridge 64 seconds later. Paul - protonnz said it plainly: the network is up against people with the most advanced AI there is. That is the threat model for every chain from now on, and code nobody has read in years is the cheapest thing to hit.
Every layer did its part. The bridge never paid the USDC out, and at 05:08 it went back into LOAN. LOAN was paused at 03:12, 37 minutes after the first borrow, so nobody else could be dragged in. webauthn was patched at 03:46. When escrowhold, a third-party escrow, was drained at 12:24, its owner removed the contract's own permission at 13:45 so nothing else could leave. At 16:39, 19 block producers, madblocks among them, executed a multisig that replaced the attacker's keys and locked the 7.21M ethereum:0xd7efb00d12c2c13131fd319336fdf952525da2af still on his account. The only part that reached an exchange is the 85,887,410 ethereum:0xd7efb00d12c2c13131fd319336fdf952525da2af he sent to @kucoincom, and KuCoin has the memo.
None of this needed a fork or a rollback. It works because accounts on XPR have names and permissions the chain understands, multisig is native, and the producers can act together within hours when something is plain theft. On most chains nobody can do that, and the money is gone before anyone wakes up.
This morning the team went further. protonnz says the changes are in and the blue team is in control, and calls XPR the first chain with anti-hacker measures like these. The defense is being automated too: agents that test every contract the way an attacker would, around the clock. On XPR that costs no gas, so it can run on everything, third-party contracts included.
That is what makes XPR and @MetalBlockchain stronger for what they are built for. A credit union on a Metal subnet needs a chain whose own governance can stop theft within hours decreasing to minutes, and that gets harder to attack every month. The first part already worked this weekend.
If you build on XPR, when was your contract last tested?
