I have always said, every journalism and mass communication student should watch #TeenTaal to understand how Agenda Setting model works in real life. Soft propaganda is way more effective than smear campaigns or downright censorship.
The folks at Teen Taal talk about everything, and somehow a lot of people find them convincing.
Here's a simple test: put one dissenting voice in that room. Ideally, someone from an oppressed caste.
Watch how fast their polished arguments start to look uneducated and idiotic. Because that's what they are.
Culture is dynamic. Changes with time. Progresses, regresses but never stays the same. It's not concrete and is definitely not about the buildings, cuisine, attire, language, and customs. A culture is an idea in motion.

Jean Dreze is more Indian than their entire ilk put together. He has spent almost five decades living among, working with and advocating for India's most vulnerable communties. His life and work challenge the very idea that Indianness is determined by birthplace and cultural conformity. Of course, they won't understand.
His life and work have revolved around around better understanding hunger, poverty, inequality, food security, education, child nutrition, healthcare and gender justice. Again, alien concepts for them.
An added fun fact for the andh bhakt mandli - Dreze was granted Indian citizenship in 2002, by the Vajpayee led NDA government.
