Councillor @GregMillerSTC criticism of #StCatharines anti-encampment by-law punishing unhoused people with fines (not just for each day but each PART of a day) and "cost recovery" for removing their tent

Joining Guelph and St. Thomas, Chatham-Kent has flipped their position on the use of the Notwithstanding Clause to clear encampments, which under @fordnation remains on the table. We have successfully flipped three municipalities whose Mayors requested the use of the Clause!
Congratulations to Chatham Kent for rejecting the use of the Notwithstanding Clause!

Regardless of whether you think "socialists" policies would work, conflating Nazis w the people they murdered and oppressed borders on Holocaust denial.
If Canadians tolerate this from a prominent politician, or turn a blind eye, we're headed down a dark & slippery path.
On the 85th anniversary of Black Ribbon Day, we remember the victims of Soviet Socialism & National Socialism (Nazism).
May we never forget the countless atrocities committed by these socialist ideologies, and may we honour those who fought to liberate Europe.
Canada must always stand against socialism for freedom and democracy.

We need to look really hard at this picture.
A white man leering over a racialized woman in a wheelchair, removing her for wearing a symbol of her culture, while 3 young racialized girls look on & privilege looks the other way.
We need to talk about this & the impacts for all

Let me be very clear—inclusive policy benefits all of us.
Fathers with daughters, mothers with sons, folks with disabilities, those traveling with elderly loved ones, and LGBTQ+ folks—single stall, all gender bathrooms create a space that meets folks where they’re at.

I applaud @stcathlibrary staff and @PrideNiagara for standing firm in the face of this sad display of hate.
This is the creep of Trump-style fanaticism: driven by conspiracy theories, fueled by hate, and shameless in its vulgar acts.
It cannot, and will not stand here. #onpoli
