This extensive/semi-intensive green roof was retrofit onto an existing concrete garage and shop.
Set on a sloping site with commanding views of downtown Calgary, it brings the ground plan to the back door inviting nature closer to the main living spaces of the house.
Using a plant pallet of predominately plants native to the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains with adaptive species and contouring with mounds for deeper rooted species, the plant cover provides habitat for birds and invertebrates.

New year, new colours in Barnet's rain gardens💧🌿
Filled with vibrant blooms and lush greenery, 1300 plants cover over 194m2 including herbaceous perennials and hardy species such as verbena, cornus and crocosmia.
The SuDS are built with walkways and stepping stones brightening up the area while encouraging people to walk through and interact.
An example of nature-based design, the @BarnetCouncil #raingardens not only enhance the local landscape but also help mitigate flooding, resulting in a visually striking and functional #SuDs scheme.

Habitat gardens are great for birds and pollinators.
With a few tweaks, your own backyard garden could bloom next spring and transform into an urban wildlife sanctuary.
Send us a message if you’re interested in having a habitat garden!

“If the bees disappear off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”

Have you noticed any street trees being planted in your area over the past few months? There's a good reason we choose winter to plant our trees ❄️
Trees become dormant in winter giving them more time to focus on root development 💪 and face less stress during the planting process 💆

Bars of soap usually need less packaging than liquid hand-soaps. There are lots of eco-friendly options, made with natural ingredients, and many are plastic-free - so choosing soap bars is one way to reduce plastic pollution.

A tree outside your business could generate more profit 🌳🛍️
Shopping areas with trees are nicer places to be➡️so people spend more time there➡️and then spend more money.
Not only do they add visual benefits, but your business booms too!
This is pretty cool!
