New Publication alert
Peatlands are more than just landscapes—they’re time capsules, preserving unique and fragile archaeological treasures under their waterlogged, oxygen-free layers. From the Bronze Age Cashel Man in Roscommon to the Iron Age Corlea wooden road in Longford, these bogs have safeguarded remarkable organic remains over millennia. Ireland’s peatlands hold a treasure trove of history, revealed only through their delicate and sometimes destructive exposure.
Explore this extraordinary heritage in our latest publication from the Our Historic Landscapes series: "Peatland Archaeology" ow.ly/fV3Y50UcKM6

An update on Mar'verick's movements, the white-tailed eagle who fledged from Mar Lodge in 2022. In 2024 he has spent most of his time in the northern Cairngorms but made periodic forays west as far as north-west Skye and north of Ullapool. Thanks to @RSPBScotland for the map.
