This is K9 Valor. He saved 47 soldiers. He survived a suicide bomber, then went on to stop three more, fighting tooth against knife. In the end, he placed himself between an explosion and his handler. The blast shattered half his face. He lost his left eye and ear. He was flown to Germany, where surgeons worked to rebuild his jaw. At the Pentagon, he was honored with a standing ovation that lasted over eight minutes. A true American hero🇺🇸

Sharing a post 🙏🥹🐾🐕‍🦺 On September 11, 2001, dogs served in different ways across the World Trade Center disaster — searching rubble, detecting danger, and guiding people through smoke-filled stairwells to safety. Apollo, an NYPD German Shepherd, searched the ruins of Ground Zero alongside rescue crews. Bretagne, a young Golden Retriever with Texas Task Force 1, worked through dust, twisted steel, and devastation. Years later, she became widely remembered as the last known surviving 9/11 search-and-rescue dog. Jake, a black Labrador who had once been abandoned and badly injured, grew up to become a certified search-and-rescue dog. After 9/11, he spent days working through the wreckage at Ground Zero. Sirius, a Port Authority Police yellow Labrador trained to detect explosives, was inside the World Trade Center that morning. His handler, Officer David Lim, secured him before rushing to help others evacuate. Lim survived. Sirius did not. He became known as the only police dog killed in the 9/11 attacks. And then there were Roselle and Salty. They weren’t searching the rubble. They were guide dogs. Roselle helped her blind handler, Michael Hingson, escape from the 78th floor of the North Tower. Salty helped his blind handler, Omar Rivera, descend from the 71st floor. Through darkness, noise, fear, crowded stairwells, and chaos, they kept moving. Six dogs. Six very different stories. Search dogs. Police dogs. Guide dogs. None of them knew the meaning of terrorism. None understood why that morning had changed America forever. They simply did what they had been trained to do — and stayed beside the people who depended on them. More than two decades later, their names still deserve to be remembered. Apollo. Bretagne. Jake. Sirius. Roselle. Salty. They searched. They guided. They served. Never forget September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸🐾 #September11 #911 #NeverForget #GroundZero #SearchAndRescue #K9 #GuideDogs #HeroDogs #Apollo #Bretagne #Jake #Sirius #Roselle #Salty

This Golden Retriever statue commemorates the 9/11 rescue dogs. It was created from the likeness of the last living 9/11 rescue dog, Bretagne. 🐶🙌✨

The Dog Who Wouldn't Stop Searching On September 11, 2001, Apollo disappeared into a hole in the rubble at Ground Zero. Then a fireball erupted. Seconds later, the German Shepherd came running back toward his handler, NYPD Officer Peter Davis. Apollo was on fire. Davis brushed the burning embers from his thick coat. And Apollo went right back to searching. Apollo was nine years old—an age when many police dogs had already retired. But that morning, he and Davis became the first canine search-and-rescue team to arrive at Ground Zero. The conditions were brutal. To reach the rubble, Davis later recalled wading through water that came nearly to his waist. Apollo searched across jagged concrete and dangerously hot debris. His coat was singed. His paws became cracked and bruised. Still, he searched. Apollo had been trained to find the living. But as the hours passed, the terrible reality of the site became clearer. Eventually, Davis had to physically pull Apollo away from the debris when the dog refused to stop looking. And Apollo wasn't alone. Search-and-rescue dogs and their handlers worked through wreckage, dust and toxic fumes in the aftermath of the attacks. Apollo became a symbol of all of them. On March 5, 2002, he was awarded the PDSA Dickin Medal for courage and devotion to duty. Apollo had been selected by ballot to receive the honor on behalf of every search-and-rescue dog that had worked at the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Apollo lived to be 14. Twenty-five years later, we remember the people who ran toward danger that morning. Apollo reminds us that not all of them ran on two legs. ❤️🐾

Sunday thoughts… Follow up thoughts FREE WILL ISN’T SOMETHING YOU HAVE. IT’S SOMETHING YOU EXERCISE. Every single day, you are making choices about who you are becoming. What you consume. What you believe. What you repeat. What you give your attention to. What you fear. What you forgive. What you refuse to let go of. Who you allow to influence your mind. Whether you react—or consciously choose your response. We tend to think of free will as something expressed in the enormous decisions of our lives. But most of our lives are built through thousands of seemingly insignificant choices. A thought entertained becomes a thought repeated. A thought repeated can become a belief. A belief can become a pattern. A pattern can become a way of living. And eventually we can find ourselves living inside something we never consciously chose. That is why awareness matters. Pay attention to what is happening inside your own mind. Ask yourself: Did I choose this belief? Did I arrive at this conclusion through discernment? Is this thought leading me toward truth, love, courage and freedom—or toward fear, anger, division and paralysis? You are not powerless over what receives your attention. You are the gatekeeper. Every day presents another opportunity to choose consciously instead of living automatically. Choose what you feed. Choose what you follow. Choose what you amplify. Choose what you carry forward. Choose what you leave behind. Choose courage over fear. Choose truth over comfort. Choose love over hatred. Choose creation over destruction. And above all, remember: The life you are creating is being shaped by the choices you are making RIGHT NOW. Free will is the gift. What you do with it is the responsibility.

Saturday thoughts… We interrupt this chat for a very important message: LOVE A LIFE WITHOUT FEAR. Right now, every one of us needs to be doing a deep dive into the places where fear has quietly crept into our present lives. Not just obvious fear. The subtle kind. The fear planted by repetition. The fear disguised as information. The fear that becomes a loop of thought we didn’t consciously choose — but eventually begin carrying as our own. Information warfare is ultimately a battle for the conscious mind. What repeatedly gains access to your attention can influence your thoughts, your emotions, your perception of reality, and ultimately the way you choose to live. Those who are at war with the one Divine Creator understand that gaining influence over the conscious mind is a pathway toward influencing the human soul. You are the gatekeeper. You are the final stop. Be extraordinarily careful about what — and whose — information you consume. Use discernment. ALWAYS. Pay attention to the loops your mind is being led into. Does what you’re consuming continually produce fear? Anger? Hopelessness? Hatred? Division? An obsession with things you cannot control? Or does it lead you toward truth, courage, wisdom, clarity, love, and purposeful action? You don’t have to give every message access to your mind simply because someone put it in front of you. Guard the gate. Question what enters. Examine what stays. And when you discover fear taking root, don’t feed it. Choose truth. Choose discernment. Choose courage. Choose a life without fear.

As someone who has conducted voir dire and hired for jury selection in some of the most high profile cases during the last decade, what that juror did was more rare than you think. He's a profile in courage. Juror bullying to reach a verdict is a real thing, a significant issue.
