Bay area schools with the most National Merit Semifinalists & the share of senior class that qualified.
South Bay is absolutely dominant, there are many schools where >10% of the class qualified

Many elite distance runners have horrible flexibility.
They can't come close to touching their toes.
Why? A stiff spring can be beneficial.
Some research found the worse you do in the sit and reach test, the better your running economy.
When these 2 are in the same race it always ends up to be a showdown to the finish! Yet another amazing meet @PrepCalTrack, that’s why this is called the “Granddaddy of Them All” (GOAT anagram) 😮💪🔥🙌❤️
SUPER-SPECTACUL-INCREDIBLE!!! Greatest distance showdown I’ve ever been blessed to witness in person! Two amazing athletes and two incredible young men: Jackson Spencer and Marcelo Mantecon — two icons in our sport. 🫡🫡 #Arcadia2026 @Arcadia_Invite

This is the spirit of sports! That’s it.
An Oklahoma girls' basketball team appealed their victory after their coach discovered they didn't actually win the game, and now, they're being honored for their character. @SteveHartmanCBS is On the Road.
RIP Coach Rush…both you and Coach Dooley looking down at us & smiling at what you’ve built here…will say hi when I visit your trees…❤️🙏🙌🌲🌲
Rest In Peace to one of the pioneers of California cross country and track and field. Bob Rush, a timer back in the days of stopwatches, Chronomizes and popsicle sticks, also was highly instrumental in various administrative aspects in keeping the sport organized at the junior college level. He was 90. He and his trusty bullhorn will be greatly missed. #YouMustRUNThroughTheChute

Catch the Rise of the 49ers, premiering on AMC February 1 & 2.

I was there...this was him back then...not sure why it took everyone so long to figure out how good @CMC_22 is as a player! #robbed #Heisman
10 years ago today, CMC became a four-letter word in Iowa, while the nation fully realized Christian McCaffrey should have won the Heisman. Rose Bowl Game record 368 all-purpose yards, @CMC_22 owned it from the jump 🔥

That catch was made by Jaden Richardson, not only a phenomenal athlete but an amazing person! W😮W!
USC literally played with 70% freshman on the depth chart. TCU basically played their full 2025 starting roster.
USC played pound for pound exchanged blow for blow. They played tough. USC has so much young talent on this roster and more coming in for 2026. The future is VERY bright for USC. The best is yet to come. We’re on the right path ✌️
Congrats Brady on the opener, it's going to be a fun season for sure as predicted! @PrepCalTrack

“When I grew up, being a nerd was always a bad thing. However, I think now being a nerd is a little cooler,” says Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
“If being a nerd is always learning and always searching for new information, then I'm all about it, whether it's in the classroom or on the football field,” he adds. cbsn.ws/4s02wYl
