Who would have thought? It's almost like we all watched this line block stretch and inside zone and duo last year, and were great at it.

1) he could be coached that way (Harbaugh did the same with Cade and JJ) and 2) that’s a formation issue. The rhino is the tell and safeties become LBs. the moment you go into 11 personnel - it’s funny how things open up more.
What exactly did Carr do in the pass game to warrant him a “threat”? His pass to Hansen was impressive but that was a 5 yard crosser. All of his downfield throws were not even close. The defense backing off mostly comes from uncertainty. Which is why I understand the move to go to Carr in the first place. But let’s not pretend he was slinging it around.

Michigan finally went with what has been working in the second half and hammered interior runs for 14 carries, 141 yards.
Also, for the first time this season, by a significant margin, Michigan used zone running schemes more than gap.
Much more in the Grade Session article.
Tommy Carr changed the game, possibly the season, but was he the biggest change on Michigan’s offense?
Stats, grades, and interactive charts on the QB switch, the dramatic run-game change, first vs. second half, and what it all means moving forward.

Interesting that the frenzy online isn’t what it was from the last time because the big brand people were rooting against was the one who got screwed this time around
Big 12 statement:
"Following the Big 12’s review of the final play of Saturday’s Notre Dame-BYU game, it was determined that time remained on the clock when the ball hit the ground and the play was incorrectly cleared by the replay officiating crew. The Conference will conduct a complete review of its end-of-game officiating process in advance of next week's games."

Yes, wholeheartedly agree. That's why my issues are with Beck. They didn't let BU fail with the same offense they gave Carr. It's very weird. But I am thrilled for Carr and BU handled it like a pro.
The rhino was on the film a ton in the first half. It’s why a 3rd and 3 run gets blown up because safety’s are now LB’s. Beck did nothing to take advantage of it. Bryce was not given the same run packages. Objectively speaking. Not sure what else to say. To me this is 100% a Beck problem.

Switched to TC14 and Beck starts calling north/south runs and changes the base personnel lol
That’s not at all true. Pistol zone stretch is not a QB read. Inside zone is not a read. Duo is not a read. There was one real RPO that I saw. Mostly they removed the rhino, added a TE and went downhill. Except on the QB power runs.
And funny enough, when Beck did add the Rhino and did his spread sweeps, those plays got blown up.
The running schemes didn’t require reads though. Handoffs from the pistol is just straight up something they didn’t do with Bryce, and given the criticisms he’s received, you’d think that’s exactly what they would have done.

I don’t want to be unkind, but if Jason Beck would like to get up and walk out of the stadium and never come back, I’d have no problem with that.
I love Carr. I’m rooting for him, obviously. Love the swagger he brings. But if Beck continues his Rhino/horizontal bullshit, he will hold the offense hostage. Joe Montana isn’t saving this as long as Beck is OC.
Being a Bryce hater doesn’t make you a better “Michigan fan.” It just makes you look feckless. Pretending Tommy won the game by himself - if you watched the game with any brain cells - is remarkably vacuous. Stop dividing the fandom. It’s pretentious and unnecessary.

I’m as excited about Tommy Carr as anyone but nothing is fundamentally changing so long as you have a terrorist at OC

That’s not at all true. Lmao
Just say you didn’t watch the game next time.
