@UHCOttawa SHOWCASES UGANDA’S TOURISM, INVESTMENT, TRADE AND CULTURE DURING THE INDO-CANADA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (ICCC)-GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP CUP 2026.
Brampton, Ontario July 30, 2026
At Hall 16, Lionhead Golf Club, Brampton, Ontario, the High Commission pitched camp and welcomed all the 150 ICCC Golfers and guests, showering them with exhilarating Uganda-style welcome and serving them with freshly brewed Uganda Coffee and on-sight- made Ugandan famous Rolex as they listened to the fascinating endowment of Uganda’s tourism, trade and investment sectors. The experience allowed participants to take part in the brewing of coffee while enjoying the unique aroma as they listened to the story behind each coffee bean-being picked one-by-one with a smile by mostly rural women in Uganda. They also participated and learnt the art of making the rolex, gaining a real feel of that component of Ugandan cultural cuisine.
Uganda High Commission enjoys deep relationship with ICCC building on to the MOU that was signed in November 2025between the Chamber and the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI). The ICCC membershipcomprises Canadians of Asian origin and many of them havingroots in Uganda. They are very industrious both in Canada and India and the Mission wants to tap into their potential and interest them into investing in the country of their Roots-Uganda.
Uganda Waragi was prestigiously given out in a raffle draw drawn by Mission staff during the dinner that was graced by Members of Ontario Provincial Parliament and the Mayor of Brampton City among other guests. Uganda’s partnership with ICCC was highlighted by the ICCC President, and the day’sinteractions were fruitful generating interest with potential to transform the relationship into actual investments, tourism and business thereby contributing to Uganda’s 10-fold growth strategy.

#WATCH | Delhi: When asked about his message to Indian students regarding Canada's changing visa and immigration policies, Canadian High Commissioner to India Chris Cooter says, "...there is a kind of misperception in India that Canada is shutting the doors. That is not at all the case. It is true that a couple of years ago, we did impose a cap because we had issues. There simply wasn't enough housing. There were some fly-by-night colleges. We wanted to clean that up, but we have done that. Now we have 400,000 students in Canada... you are very welcome as students, and parents and students, please do consider Canada..."
He adds, "...when it comes to the question of visas, people tell us all about that... the problems they have with getting the visa... I can tell you that as a result of the Prime Minister's visit here only 2.5 months ago, we are actively working on fixing those problems, making the experience much better..."

Consul General @MahavirSinghvii addressed an interactive business networking Seminar hosted by the @IndoCanadaCC with a visiting delegation from the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (@FieoHq) and leading members of the Canadian business community.
He highlighted the growing momentum in India-Canada economic relations following the recent visit of Hon’ble Commerce & Industry Minister Shri @PiyushGoyal, and discussed the transformative potential of a future CEPA in expanding trade, investment, innovation, and supply-chain partnerships.

Consul General @MahavirSinghvii delivered the keynote address at the event hosted by the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) to celebrate the International Women’s Day.

ASSOCHAM and the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen business cooperation and deepen industry engagement between India and Canada.
The MoU establishes a structured framework to promote trade, investment, technology collaboration, and business partnerships, while facilitating the exchange of trade information, industry delegations, and joint initiatives that support members from both organisations.
Signed in New Delhi on 9 March 2026, the agreement marks an important step toward expanding bilateral business opportunities and strengthening the economic partnership between the two countries.
