#GWF2024 | The last day of Geospatial World Forum 2024 began with discussions on multiple topics running parallelly in different rooms. For the session Digital Consumers of the Future Geospatial Ecosystem, Kaustav Nag, Additional Director General (Exploration), Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, @PetroleumMin presented the keynote address. He explained how Geospatial Technology is intertwined with the Geophysical data distribution in India. "In the field of Oil and Gas Exploration, Geospatial Tech is in every facet of Exploration, Production, Transportation and Data Management. Data that is generated due to exploration has a time value. Geospatial Data is very crucial in oil and gas exploration sector," he says. #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #geospatial #technology #exploration #mining #oilandgas #data

#GWF2024 | Opening the penultimate session of the National Mapping Summit with the famous quote, Nicholas Brown, Head of Office, @unggce addressed how important technologies like the internet, power supply and satellite services have weaved seamlessly into our lives. He says, “A Joint Development Plan for the Global Geodesy can address the weakness of the Global Geodesy Supply Chain. This plan will include activities for UN-GGCE, Member states and partners. Three main requirements to be focused on- 1. Stabilize the supply chain 2. Make it more Robust 3. Make it Next Gen." #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #supplychain #analytics #geodesy #technology #geospatial #data

#GWF2024 | Navaneeth Soori, Senior Product Marketing Manager, @UP42_ says, "There is an urgent need for downstream applications, especially when you look at the events happened in last 4 years; the pandemic, various geopolitical conflicts, climate change and its impact on almost everything, all of these tie back to space in some way." "When you look at the ways to solve it, space comes out as one of the fundamental tools." "On other side, there has been a boom in satellite earth observation capabilities. The cost of satellite launching have gone down and unsurprisingly, the number of satellites being launched have gone up. On the new age technology side cloud computing, GenAI, machine learning, and AI-based geospatial analytics have risen as well." "This has had a big impact on geospatial platforms in general as well as it has made combining both these things to serve the end users." #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #satelliteimagery #SAR #analytics #satellite #AI #GenAI #cloudcomputing #technology #geospatial #data

#GWF2024 | Vikrant Nashine, Global Delivery Head – GIS, @tech_mahindra extrapolates on how it is essential to have a well-established framework. Specifically talking about Field Data collection network, he says, " Field Data Collection requires three fundamental characteristics –Flexibility, Adaptability and Scalability. Accelerated data collection for National Mapping is a small but an integral part of the larger geospatial ecosystem." #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #mapping #technology #geospatial #data

#GWF2024 | Mark Cygan, Director - National Mapping Solutions, @Esri kicks off the second session at the National Mapping Summit talking about six architectural pillars and how it should be implemented into the design of these well architected systems. He says, “A well architected Geospatial system contain six architectural pillars namely, Reliability, the ability to Integrate, Performance and Scalability of the system, Automation, Security and Observability of the system helping in monitoring the capability of the system.” #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #mapping #automation #security #monitoring #technology #geospatial #data

#GWF2024 | Markus Jobst, Chief Information Officer, Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV), Austria talks about the socio economic impact of GKI. He emphasized on how important is GKI in socio economic impact, “800 thousand people were employed in the meteorology and surveying sectors with a value added of 43 billion Euros just in 2021. One of the sectors that was highly impacted was of precision farming where Geospatial positioning has helped with reducing the expenditure in precision farming.” #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #GKI #Surveying #farming #weather #meteorology #technology #geospatial #data #precisionfarming #socioeconomic

#GWF2024 | Integration of GKI has tremendous impact and value for various sectors. One such sector is mining. Dheeraj Kumar, Dy. Director and Project Director, @IITISM_DHANBAD says, “First we need to digitalize and then we can talk about Digitalization. The place to start is a digital and connected mine. This is done through real time mapping and monitoring." #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #satelliteimagery #SAR #mining #mapping #monitoring #technology #geospatial #dataset #GKI #digitalization

#GWF2024 | Keeping pace with the fast evolving geospatial markets is a modern conundrum with a very urgent requirement to stimulating the market growth and encouraging a greater uptake in innovative application. Síle Martin, Senior Policy Adviser, UK @GeospatialC finds the solutions to the above problems in two programs: Remote Sensing Program and Population Movement Data Program #GeospatialWorldForum2024 #innovation #technology #geospatial #dataset #nationalmapping

#GWF2024 | The Geospatial World Forum presented its annual Geospatial Leadership Awards today at GWF 2024 on May 14th. @NUVIEWspace won the Geospatial Innovator Award. @KatieGraumann , COO & Co-Founder of NUVIEW received the award.
