The @INSPACeIND Model Rocketry and CANSAT competitions continue to build on their momentum, firmly establishing themselves as a premier annual fixture since kicking off in the 2023–24 cycle. Watching this initiative grow into a major nationwide platform for young aerospace enthusiasts has been incredible, bringing together some of the brightest collegiate minds from across the country to push the boundaries of hands-on engineering. For this version of the competition, organizers have raised the stakes by challenging student teams with a complex and precise mission objective: achieving a targeted landing. Translating theoretical aerospace concepts into operational hardware that can successfully descend, navigate, and land on a specific target is no small feat, yet the participants are rising to the challenge with remarkable ingenuity. The creative mechanisms, custom-built recovery systems, and autonomous navigation ideas they are successfully designing and implementing are simply awesome to witness. As these brilliant teams progress through the rigorous evaluation phases, the excitement continues to build. Every milestone brings us closer to the ultimate showdown, and the ingenuity on display promises an unforgettable culmination. Keep looking for the grand finale, because the future of India's space sector is actively unfolding right here on the launchpad. – at Anekal Bangaluru, India
Some of the most exciting conversation I had at Bengaluru Space Expo 2026 was not with the CEOs or the veterans but with students. @INSPACeIND invited some of the young teams competing in the CAN-7USAT and Model Rocketry Competition 2026, and they blew me away. They explained their rockets, CANSATs and mission designs with the poise of seasoned engineers, talking through complex systems as though they had been doing it for years. I walked away certain of one thing. Somewhere in that hall today stood a future ISRO scientist, and very likely the founder of a space company we will all be proud of a decade from now. This is what the future of Indian space looks like. And it looks very bright. @isro @INSPACeIND #BSX2026

Spot on! @isro remains the irreplaceable bedrock of our space journey—pioneering foundational R&D, strategic capabilities, and deep-space missions that inspire generations. 🇮🇳✨ – at Anekal Bangaluru, India
India's space sector is entering a new era of scale, ambition and global opportunity. #BengaluruSpaceExpo2026 captures that momentum. 300 exhibitors, 15,000 participants and delegates from 21 countries. This scale would have been unimaginable five years ago. As @isro Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan rightly said, India's space ecosystem is growing with the support of industry and international partners. Private capital, launch capability and a growing ecosystem are changing the game. The next phase is about scale: building a full-spectrum space economy where ISRO, industry, startups, academia and investors reinforce each other. India's ambition is not to build a closed space ecosystem, but an open and trusted one. India is positioning itself as a global hub for space manufacturing, technology, launch services and resilient supply chains. The opportunity now is to move from MoUs to joint missions, and from discussions to shared programmes. MSMEs, startups and large industry each have a defining role in taking Indian space capabilities to global markets. The six enablers are clear: capability, capacity, capital, demand, enabling policy and global partnerships. India's space story will be built through a whole-of-nation effual to reach, with ISRO remaining its backbone as the country pursues an unprecedented frontier of exploration and commercial growth. @PMOIndia @DrJitendraSingh @isro @INSPACeIND

As private industry ramps up commercial manufacturing, constellations, and launch services, ISRO focuses on pushing technological frontiers. To achieve 50 launches annually by 2030, the BAS, and crewed lunar missions, government and industry must build in lockstep. 🛰️🚀 – at Anekal Bangaluru, India

Incredible growth in India's space sector! 🚀 Going from a handful of startups to over 450, and targeting 50 launches a year by 2030, shows the true power of public-private partnership. Build in India, launch from India, and serve the world! 🇮🇳✨ @isro @INSPACeIND @GoenkaPk – at Anekal Bangaluru, India
Five years ago, when India opened up its space sector, we had two clear objectives: enable ISRO to conquer new frontiers and empower our private industry to scale up. Today, we are seeing both take shape. EOS-05 is a major achievement by ISRO, and this is just the beginning. At the same time, from barely a handful of space startups five years ago, India today has over 450. Indian private industry has already flown a rocket to orbit. Now comes the real test: scaling up. We have set ourselves an ambitious target of 50 launches a year by 2030. A goal of this scale cannot be achieved by one organisation alone. Government and private industry have to build this future together. ISRO’s research will continue to push the frontiers of what is possible. Private industry must translate that momentum into manufacturing at scale: more rockets, more satellites, more launch capacity and new technologies. That is how we will build a complete space ecosystem and create the capacity to match our ambition. The opportunity before us is immense: build in India, launch from India and serve the world from India. We are well on our way to taking India’s space sector to a new orbit, figuratively and literally. @isro @INSPACeIND
