It is encouraging to see the discussion involving greenfield exploration, where industrial activities have not taken place. A comprehensive approach to mining that includes diverse exploration initiatives is essential for securing British Columbia's critical minerals. BC stands at a crossroads.
We have a unique opportunity to deliver a critical minerals windfall attracting private sector investment and securing jobs and economic benefits for decades, but it can only happen if we speed up permitting and approval of mining projects. Taking up to 15 years to permit and authorize a new mine is too long.

Critical minerals offer British Columbians a generational economic opportunity.
@SeabridgeInc is developing the KSM Project approximately 65 km northwest of Stewart and will produce copper and molybdenum – indispensable to electric vehicles and clean energy technologies.
The Project is the world’s third largest undeveloped copper resource and its development and operation will secure jobs and significant economic benefits for northwest BC for decades, while making a positive contribution to the global transition to clean energy.
