Dr. Sunday Ojara led a team from Yale University, School of Nursing, USA to pay a courtesy visit to Prof. Openjuru, George Ladaah the University Vice Chancellor to discuss potential areas of collaboration with Gulu University under Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology/Reproductive Health, Faculty of Medicine and also work on the development of the bachelor of Nursing and midwifery curriculum. They have been even working to improve maternal child health in Atiak sub county for the past 7years.

Gulu University has officially launched the Green Charcoal Living Lab in Pabbo Town Council, Amuru district under BSU Project "Unlocking the Potential of Green Charcoal Innovation to Mitigate Climate Change in Northern Uganda (UPCHAIN)."
