Just now, David Eby confirms that he has his kids in $10/day taxpayer-subsidized daycare.
Approx. only 10% of BC daycare spots offer $10/day daycare. Most families who want in can't get a spot.
As Premier, Eby earns $227k/year. Eby's wife is a doctor. Their household income is likely well over half a million dollars per year.
We don't resent British Columbians who are successful (we want more people to succeed).
But where there are wait lists, surely a wealthy family like Eby's shouldn't be taking advantage of $10/day daycare. Think about a working single mother? David Eby deserves the spot more than her?

They put Gen Z in VR headsets and showed them October 7th.
"Did you know these were innocent civilians massacred at a music festival?"
"No, I did not. I had no idea."
Then they met two survivors. 💔

Please spare me the whole "this isn't Canada" rhetoric. A synagogue shot up on the holiest day of the Jewish calendar is exactly what Canada has become.
The reason is clear, moral cowardice.
Whether it's politicians equivocating on the legality of hate rallies against Jews, or university faculty spreading hate under the guise of academic inquiry, society's response of a collective shrug is what has brought us to this dark place.
Until our institutions find the moral courage to rid themselves of those who propagate hate, this darkness will continue to spread.

Congratulations!
Grateful to serve the families, farmers, and food producers of Ontario as Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Agri-business 🚜
Growing up on the family farm in Niagara, I saw my parents work tirelessly with determination, optimism, and faith to grow the food our communities rely on.
It was more than a job for them: it was a calling, a continuation of a multi-generational legacy that they were thankful for.
Today, my siblings continue in their footsteps, and the family farm has grown, leading to new businesses and creating more opportunities for workers beyond the family.
It’s a familiar growth story across the province: agriculture, food, and agri-business support $52B in GDP, and tens of thousands of jobs.
I may have left the farm, but as I head to farms and agri-businesses across the province, I remain more motivated than ever to protect our remarkable workers and farm families, as well as the entrepreneurs and visionaries who lead them.
In the face of Donald Trump’s unprovoked trade war, my message to Ontario’s farmers and agricultural industries is simple: with @fordnation we will move quicker, open up new markets, cut red tape, and protect workers and families.
Grateful also for the work of @TrevorJonesCKL in this crucial sector.
Now, it’s time to put on some coveralls and boots, and get to work!

For those who are 26 years old or younger, this clip is NOT Ai.
It’s when Islamists hijacked passenger aircraft, killed crew members and crashed the planes into the twin towers.
You may be supporting Hamas and “the resistance” but September 11, 2001 is when it started.

Roth "So even if Canadian voters don't want a deal because they feel angry and frankly, because they got all whipped into a lather in the last election campaign with I think really irresponsible political rhetoric, that's an unfortunate reality."
"But the people who make jobs in this country and invest to try to create wealth and prosperity for everyone want the certainty that comes with having a deal and being able to plan ahead." @GinnyRothTO
Ontario municipalities already faced a $52B infrastructure repair backlog before the recent surge in costs, and now anticipate $100B in growth-related infrastructure investment over next 10 years. Against that, Ontario's share of this $8.8B program is $4.4B over ten years.Context

Please watch this whole reality check from Mark Warner on negotiating with the US and Donald Trump
"The strangest part about the way we are negotiating trade agreements since the last great one in the end of the 1980s, is our negotiators enter into trade negotiations with one hand tied behind their back."
"They only define a Canadian win as a producer interest. They completely forget about consumers." @MAAWLAW

I want to congratulate Canada’s Advisory Council on Rights, Equality and Inclusion on completing its first meeting. 6 months after replacing the country’s dedicated combatting antisemitism envoy and 2 months after being told by PM Carney that antisemitism was its urgent priority, members report they are still getting to know each other. No agenda or work plan.
By happy coincidence, a survey commissioned by that abolished envoy was published this week: 96% of 🇨🇦 Jewish students encountered antisemitism on campus, and one in five reported physical violence.
The dead office is outworking the live one.
Federal panel assigned February 4th to combat #antiSemitism has convened one meeting with no agenda or work plan. “We are getting to know each other.”

Canada has an antisemitism problem its leaders won’t confront. We know that. Here's a Toronto-based writer who went to go to the Wall Street Journal to say what Ottawa won’t.
When two‑thirds of religion‑motivated hate crimes target 1% of the population, that’s not “all hate matters.” That’s an antisemitism and hate crisis.
Good read.

Olivia Chow's campaign is run by people who advocate for the IRGC. Which, coincidentally, we now know has been paying people to shoot up Toronto synagogues.
It is unbelievable, this story. Had this happened anywhere else, it would be very big news.

Political correctness and maybe anti-semitism gets in the way of actually releasing details of a crime. The place of worship attacked were Jewish synagogues.
We are investigating two recent incidents in which a south-end place of worship has been defaced with hate-related graffiti: guelphpolice.ca/news/posts/t… #Guelph
