Deporting refugees to Myanmar under an agreement with Min Aung Hlaing is a violation of international law...And it will not ease the burden of the Myanmar crisis on Malaysia or the wider region; indeed, it will worsen it. - Wai Wai Nu thediplomat.com/2026/10/anwa…

Why doesn't the media talk about Sudan? Sudan is bleeding. Sudanese women face drones by day and rape by night—UN confirms 800+ victims. Tens of thousands killed, millions displaced, millions pushed into famine, children died from malnutrition. Don't be indifferent to Sudan.

In a new interview with @CIVICUSalliance, CFU Executive Director @RushanAbbas details the devastating personal cost of speaking out against the CCP’s persecution of Uyghurs. She shares how her sister, Dr. Gulshan Abbas, has spent eight years unjustly imprisoned, while Rushan herself has faced threats, harassment, cyberattacks, and other forms of transnational repression for continuing her advocacy. Her story shows how Beijing uses fear and family separation to try to silence Uyghur voices beyond China’s borders, and why those voices must continue to be heard. Using frameworks from a new study by @adrianzenz and Muetter Tohti, learn to identify the three types of Transnational Authoritarian Control and what they look like in practice.

Another horrific regime air strike massacre in Myanmar. This is why calling on "both sides" to de-escalate is so absurd: only one side in this armed conflict is using fixed wing bombers to target civilians. Stop normalizing it. Stop legitimizing it. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar
The air strike on Kyauktaw turned out to be a massacre. Rakhine media report at least 33 killed when the bombs hit the local market. Pictures of dead and burned bodies are too gruesome to share unfiltered. Myanmar 🇲🇲

Transnational repression on the march again, with #Vietnam committing yet another outrage by abducting two rights & democracy activists last seen in #Cambodia. Nguyen Duc Thuan & Tran Hiep are foreign nationals (Norway, Australia) and should be immediately released & permitted to return overseas to their families. Statement issued today by AHRLA is below:

A new @Reuters investigation reveals how cotton goods linked to sanctioned Chinese textile giant Esquel continue to reach the U.S. market through garment manufacturers in Vietnam. Since Esquel was added to the UFLPA Entity List in 2024 over alleged links to Uyghur forced labor, three manufacturers with longstanding ties to the company have exported at least $5 million in cotton goods to the U.S. The findings expose serious gaps in enforcement and the need for stronger scrutiny of supply chains connected to Uyghur forced labor.
