The WNBA would rather alienate millions of new Caitlin Clark fans than grow its audience. Now players are reportedly skipping the National Anthem during the Finals, despite league rules. Identity politics are destroying the WNBA.

A Tesla owner took his first big road trip last month: 900 miles, 4 Supercharger stops, a packed car, and a plan he was proud of. His best friend drove the same route on the same weekend in the exact same car. Same model. Same battery. Same speed. Same weather. The friend arrived 2 hours and 4 minutes earlier. And paid $31 less. He didn't think much of it until they met at a Supercharger halfway through the second day. He watched his friend pull in at 9% and unplug 19 minutes later. His own car had been sitting at the next stall for 41 minutes, and it still wasn't done. "What am I doing wrong?" he asked. His friend is a former Tesla Supercharger network engineer. He walked over, looked at the screen for about 10 seconds, and said: "You're not driving a slow car. You're charging it the slow way, and you've been doing it for 900 miles." "You navigated with Google Maps on your phone, so the car never knew a Supercharger was coming and never preconditioned the battery. You rolled in at 54% when the fastest charging happens when you arrive low. You plugged into a stall that shares power with the car next to you. You charged to 100% when the last 20% takes as long as the first 60%. You walked away to eat and left the car sitting at the stall for 25 minutes after it finished, which is exactly what idle fees exist to punish. You never looked at the price per kWh before you plugged in. You never checked how many stalls were open at the next stop. And you never opened the app to see what your car was actually doing." "None of this is a hack. It's all built into the car and the app. Most owners just never learn it, because Tesla doesn't force you to." "You've been paying the 'I never read anything' tax." He fixed 8 habits in one evening. No new equipment. No subscription. No upgrade. His next 900-mile trip took 1 hour and 52 minutes less. It cost $31 less. And he told me it was the first road trip where he never once felt stressed about the charger. Here is every change he made, in order 🧵

A plane carrying a mother, father, and their two teenage daughters crashed into a tree in a Florida neighborhood and caught fire. As smoke poured from the wreckage, four neighbors rushed toward the burning aircraft armed with an axe, a hammer, and a fire extinguisher. But to save the family inside, they would have to fight their way into a burning aircraft before the flames spread. It happened in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The family was approaching a nearby airport when their plane crashed into a tree outside someone’s home. Hearing the impact, four neighbors rushed outside to find smoke rising from the wreckage and the family trapped inside. Without hesitation, they grabbed tools and began smashing through the damaged cockpit, managing to pull the father and his two teenage daughters to safety, but the mother was still trapped inside. With flames spreading quickly, some fought the fire using a garden hose and extinguisher while the others desperately worked to break through the twisted metal and reach her. Finally, they pulled her free, saving all four family members. Without these neighbors risking their own lives, this could have ended in tragedy. Instead, an entire family is alive because four ordinary people refused to stand by. Let’s give these everyday heroes the recognition they deserve.

HILARIOUS: President Trump told Bill Maher to BRING one of his “lunatic leftist friends” to their White House dinner last Thursday and Maher brought Stephen A. Smith with him. “Just like the one I had a year ago. Just me. And there's somebody else. [Trump’s] told me, he said, ‘You can bring any one of your lunatic left friends.’ So I'm bringing one of my lunatic left friends. And Kid Rock. And my producer, Chuck LaBella.”
“That's how he lives. He talks to guys at night, at dinner, while you're eating steak. You want to, you want to get into Trump's brain, do that. Have dinner with some guys who have fun. At night, eating steak. We're not reading the briefing books in this White House. That's not how we get information. People are saying. Be one of those people that are saying.”

My coworker's mother passed away last November. She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work. He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate. Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office. Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title. He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance. The caseworker sighed and told him: "Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full." He offered to pay a monthly settlement. They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction. A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien. You don't own generational wealth. You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.

TROUTMAN POLICE CHIEF ENDS OFF-DUTY SECURITY ASSIGNMENTS AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS Troutman, NC - Troutman Police Chief Josh Watson has notified Iredell Statesville Schools that, effective October 26, 2026, his officers will no longer be authorized to work off-duty security assignments at Board of Education meetings. The decision follows an October 12 incident in which Board Chairman Doug Knight requested the removal of a man who was reading sexually explicit excerpts from a book reportedly available in Lake Norman High School’s library. The excerpts included descriptions of sexual acts and anatomy that Firewire will not repeat in this post. Troutman officers handled the situation calmly and politely asked the man to leave. In his letter, Chief Watson cited concerns about the legal basis for requested removals, the protection of constitutional rights, and the expectations placed on officers assigned to these meetings. “A request from the presiding officer does not, by itself, establish sufficient legal grounds for removal, detention, or arrest,” Watson wrote. The board and school administration will now need to arrange alternative meeting security. Troutman Police will continue responding to calls for law enforcement assistance at board meetings within their jurisdiction. Officers may also continue working approved off-duty assignments at school sporting events and other school activities. Firewire applauds Chief Watson for recognizing that officers must independently determine whether enforcement action is legally justified. His letter raises serious concerns about how requests to remove members of the public are handled. Firewire's position is simple: If a book is appropriate for students to access in a school library, school board members should be willing to hear its contents discussed during public comment. If board members find those passages too graphic to hear at a meeting, they should be willing to explain why the material is appropriate for students to read in private. Excellent job, Chief Watson. @isschools – at Mooresville, NC

MOTHER OF HERO SPEAKS OUT 🙏🏼 Kaylub Giamanco’s mom just described the phone call she got moments after her son stopped the school shooter in Bend, Oregon. “He said, Mom, I just shot and kiIIed somebody.” She asked him to tell her about it. “A man went into my daughter’s school and shot kids. And I looked at him point blank and I shot and kiIIed him, Mom.” She told him he saved a lot of lives. His answer: “Mom, I couldn’t save them all.” He was driving home from lunch when he heard the shots. He pulled up onto the grass, grabbed his gun, and followed the gunman back into the school. He army-crawled through a window the shooter had already blasted out and ended the attack. Three kids and a teacher were already gone. His own daughters were safe. Now he’s struggling with the ones he couldn’t reach and asking himself what he could have done differently. This is what happens when a good man with a gun runs toward the sound of gunfire instead of waiting for someone else to show up. THAT is what stopped more of them from dying. Kaylub Giamanco is a hero.

Stephen A. Smith on his White House Dinner with President Trump, Bill Maher, and Kid Rock: “Bill Maher did a lot of the talking because it was his meeting. I was Bill Maher's guest even though I was at the White House… [Bill Maher] talked about a lot of different things. Translators in Afghanistan that needed to be rescued and protected. Talked about the economy. Talked about Trump's relatively dismissive attitude about the economic times that we're living in, because in Trump's world, it's just a bump in the road right now. Everything's going to be fine. Talk about the economy. Talk about inflation. [POTUS] says, ‘Hey, that's going to get resolved.’” “We’re $40T in debt, ‘Don't worry. Don't worry. Don't worry. Don't worry. There's trillions, trillions coming into us, into our country. Just mark my words. Believe me. Believe me. It's going to be great. It's going to be wonderful. Mark my words.’” “‘What are you talking about? Where's the proof?’ ‘You'll see it. It's coming.’” President Trump has done what other presidents only talked about. He has brought TRILLIONS of dollars in new investment back to America and turned the country into a manufacturing powerhouse again. Tariffs have GREATLY reduced our reliance on China by forcing companies to build their factories in America. What liberals don’t understand is that it takes TIME. Factories AREN’T built overnight. In the years ahead, the economy will TAKE OFF and it will be THANKS to 47.
