The government deliberately watered down the Be Emergency Ready booklet and dropped the EU recommended advice to stock 72 hours of supplies, purely because it might make people “anxious.”
This is a cowardly refusal to tell the truth. Ireland has no meaningful food security.
We export the vast majority of what we produce (especially beef and dairy) while importing around 83% of our fruit and vegetables, most of the grain that goes into our bread, and large volumes of other everyday foods.
Even our farms cannot function without imports we depend on overseas diesel to run machinery and fertiliser to grow anything at all without them, we produce nothing.
Our shelves and our agriculture rely on fragile overseas supply chains that can be disrupted by weather, conflict, or logistics failures.
Softening the message doesn’t change that reality it just leaves households less prepared while politicians infantilise the public.

Unfortunately, attacks on houses in Waterford is nothing new. An Garda Síochána have failed the people of Waterford. Local politicians have also failed the local people. This has been going on for years. But it’s getting worse, Antony Pettit needs to resign. He covered this up in 2014.
Róisín Halligan, an 11-year-old girl who was severely burned during a petrol bomb attack in Waterford City. The attack occurred on October 16, 2014, around 9:00 PM at her grandmother’s home in the Ardmore Park estate in Ballybeg, Waterford.
Superintendent Antony Pettit covered up this in 2014, due to the fact it was the work of Mongo Stokes in Waterford city.
Ireland is an Naco State, @GardaSiochanaHq refuses to drug test its members. The Irish government also refuses to test elected representatives. It is well known throughout the judiciary In Ireland cocaine use is rampant.

And we’re back in Navan this morning, the brothel capital of county Meath with nearly all of the “escorts” advertised on an illegal prostitution website Escort Ireland for the Royal County being based in Navan.
12 advertisements in county Meath of which nine are in Navan plus one in Kells plus two in Ashbourne, but it’s worth saying that not all ads are authenticated and one brothel appears to be accommodating more prostitutes than are advertised.
Since this series began, there has been only one Irish advertisement and that up for a couple of days only and wasn't authenticated. Prostitution in Navan is dominated by Chinese, Brazilian and Romanian trafficking & pimping gangs – which reflects the national picture according to the Garda Organised Prostitution Investigation Unit (GOPIU)
On the economics, 12 “escorts” at an average 10 transactions per day and €100 per transaction equals €84,000 a week in headline income for the gangs, but there are other income streams too with drugs retail and the odd bit of extortion and blackmail. The “prostitution market” seeps into other areas as well, because that €84,000 needs to be money-laundered. This is all separate to the estimated €10m a year coined in by Escort Ireland for advertisements.
Last week, Chief Superintendent Thelma Watters below who now leads the Garda National Protective Services Bureau of which the GOPIU is part told a Garda podcast “The brothel-keeper will earn €800 profit a week apiece from five prostitutes, in turn you’re looking at each brothel with €16,000 profit per month, Five brothels that they’re operating will give you €80-grand profit per month. We see an intention for these people to retire from their business model within a short period of time because of the amount of money they can earn on a quite quick basis”
The brothels in Navan all operate in plain sight within minutes of the Navan garda station and the local newspaper offices of the Meath Chronicle.

The brothels all operate in plain sight within minutes of the Navan garda station and the local newspaper offices of the Meath Chronicle.
Eight advertisements will roughly equate to 80 offences per day, using the range of daily transactions recently provided by the Garda Organised Prostitution Investigation Unit led by Superintendent Derek Maguire. That’s 500+ offences in the past week.
Last week, we did receive from Gardai their recorded offences data for Q2,2026 which showed one (1) prostitution offence recorded in the Meath/Westmeath division in the 90-day period. We believe that the one (1) offence was a man arrested in Navan in June at a brothel when he refused to leave during Operation Global Chain when Gardai engaged in “welfare visits” at brothels. This case hasn’t been reported in any media, national or local.

Local gardai in Navan garda station still claim they are examining complaints about the brothels, but who are they kidding, they have desktop access to determine the addresses, they have the 2017 law to uphold, and it’s like shooting fish in a barrel, making arrests.

Riad Bouchaker was given citizenship in 2014, as were 21,101 others. Only 3% were rejected. Fine Gael had been lobbied to clear an asylum backlog.
There was no interview (he can't speak English).
Tax records, proof of being self-sufficient & tax-compliant was required. He wasn't.
