The State and its army of NGOs can't provide young people struggling with their mental health with free, timely therapy services. So the people of Bray are stepping in. We're all volunteers. Zero overheads. No wages. No waste. 100% of funds raised go to end user. #Cabhair

To usłyszeli ode mnie liderzy Europy w Brukseli.

VAT was raised from 21% to 23% in Budget 2012 to plug deficits during the EU-IMF bailout. What justifies keeping that extra 2% now? Same question applies to USC. Austerity taxes shouldnt become permanent fixtures, especially amid massive surpluses & enduring Cost of Living hikes

🚨 AWESOME! German AfD Party Leader Alice Weidel proclaims that 100% of the Syrians in Germany have to GO BACK because "the war ended in Syria" She's right! 🔥 Germany still has about 930,000 Syrians living there. There is NO REASON FOR THAT Weidel also says an AfD government would immediately review the citizenship grants given to Syrians, because the party has "considerable doubts" that some of them met the criteria FINALLY. GERMANY NEEDS AFD 🇺🇸🇩🇪

This is what the Government and the left do not - and will not - ever acknowledge. They are too deep in the pro-migration ideological trenches. For them, migration can only ever be good - and they can't turn back. @independent_ire and @AontuIE plus a handful of opposition independents have at least identified and given voice to the real issue. That makes them the only people in the Dáil who have any prospect of solving the housing crisis.
"We have over 17,000 people homeless" The Govt say they are building more houses but the rapid rise in population is outweighing delivery. @MichaelC_IND_TD

European gas prices have almost tripled on this time last year. Unless a lot more Qatari LNG starts getting out of the Gulf asap, energy bills are heading a lot higher over the winter.

A warning: this story is about the brilliant boxer Darren "the Dazzler" Sutherland who passed away on this day in 2009 and includes details of suicide. Sutherland grew up in a council gaff in Parslickstown in Blanchardstown, Dublin. His Da Anthony was from the Caribbean island of St. Vincent, his Ma Linda from Finglas. He joined St. Bridget's Boxing Club in Mulhuddart at 14. His coaches saw something immediately. Within weeks he was sparring with the Leinster senior champion and holding his own. He moved to Sheffield to train under Brendan Ingle at the famous Wincobank gym. He balanced training with part-time work and studied for his A levels in sports science, before homesickness pulled him back. He eventually completed a sports science degree at DCU on a scholarship. Back in Dublin he trained at St. Saviour's Olympic Boxing Academy on Dorset Street. He won 3 Irish senior titles and took EU Amateur Championship gold in both 2007 and 2008. His great amateur rival was Britain's James DeGale, the pair having a series of memorable bouts. At the 2007 EU Championships in Dublin, Sutherland beat DeGale 23-19 to take gold. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics he won bronze in the middleweight division. The handsome charismatic young boxer became a national celebrity overnight. As a Blanch head meself, who briefly boxed in a club in Mulhuddart, I remember how proud and jealous we were of this dazzling local lad. Frank Maloney, the London promoter, whod guided Lennox Lewis, signed him in 2008. Sutherland made his professional debut in Dublin on 18 December 2008, a first-round knockout and kept his streak going with 4 fights, all wins by knockout. Tragically, underneath the victories there was pain and darkness. Darren Sutherland was found dead in his flat in Bromley, south London, on 14 September 2009. He was just 27 years old. The inquest held in Croydon in March 2012 said how a cheek and eye-socket injury got infected and wouldn't heal, forcing him to postpone fights and causing significant physical pain. But his mind was suffering too. Without the structure of training and competition, his confidence and peace were fecked. Notes found at the scene described fears about what his manager Maloney would do to him if he broke contract. He confided in mates that he was terrified of leaving boxing. One friend told the inquest he was scared of Maloney. He had reportedly asked about renegotiating or ending his contract, but Maloney swore he would ensure he did not box for anyone else. At the inquest Maloney denied he had intimidated Sutherland. He broke down in tears saying that Sutherland had even lived with Maloneys family for months. When asked had he any regrets about how he handled the situation, Maloney said no. Tony and Linda Sutherland initially didn't believe their son was depressed. They had his body exhumed in September 2010 for an independent post-mortem, unsatisfied with the initial findings. Both examinations confirmed death by asphyxiation from hanging. Coroner Roy Palmer described Darren as a charming gentleman who lit up a room, but noted he was also introverted, anxious, and needed reassurance. He was perhaps too sensitive and too intelligent for the cutthroat world he had entered. Palmer declined to return a suicide verdict and returned an open verdict instead. The Sutherland family called for better support structures for athletes making the transition from amateur to professional sport. The coroner wrote separately to the British Board of Boxing Control with recommendations. Sutherland's memory is honoured by DCU with the Darren Sutherland Memorial Award and an annual tournament. Touchingly his rival DeGale wore the initials DS on his shorts throughout his professional career. When DeGale won the IBF super middleweight world title in 2015, he dedicated the victory to him. RIP Dazzler. Please reach out for help. SAMARITANS: 116 123 PIETA HOUSE: 1800 247 247 Text HELP to 51444

Riad Bouchaker. He screamed, 'Fucking Irish' as he slashed and stabbed children outside their school. Parties like @fiannafailparty @FineGael and the Soc Dems say a passport makes you Irish. Next time you meet one of these people, ask them - is Riad Bouchaker an Irishman?

Riad Bouchaker was given citizenship in 2014, as were 21,101 others. Only 3% were rejected. Fine Gael had been lobbied to clear an asylum backlog. There was no interview (he can't speak English). Tax records, proof of being self-sufficient & tax-compliant was required. He wasn't.
A Garda witness has confirmed that Riad Bouchaker (Parnell School stabbing) has never worked in Ireland. He came here circa 2000 and was awarded Irish citizenship despite never being engaged in gainful employment.

Meloni in Italy. Le Pen in France. Weidel in Germany. By the end of the next election cycle three of the four biggest economies in the EU will likely be run by women. But I get the impression Mary won't be so keen on that.

Independent Ireland welcomes decision to ban Drumcree parade in the interests of public safety Deputy Michael Collins, Leader of Independent Ireland, says public safety, the rule of law and the protection of communities must come before confrontation Independent Ireland has welcomed the decision by Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Bryant to prevent the contentious Orange Order parade at Drumcree from proceeding, following advice from the Chief Constable that facilitating the procession would pose an unacceptable risk of serious injury, public disorder and wider instability across Northern Ireland. The decision is the right one in the interests of public safety, the protection of local residents and the preservation of hard-won peace and stability. After almost two weeks of deadlock between Orangemen and nationalist residents on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown, it is clear that the circumstances required such intervention. Deputy Michael Collins, Leader of Independent Ireland, said: “This is the right decision in the interest of safety. No parade, tradition or political demand should be allowed to take precedence over the safety of ordinary people or the risk of serious injury and widespread disorder. When the Chief Constable has made it clear that all available, lawful and proportionate options have been exhausted, the responsible course of action is to prevent a situation from escalating into potentially devastating consequences. “The people of the North have endured far too much conflict and division. We cannot afford to return to the days when communities were placed at risk because political leaders were unwilling to make difficult decisions. Public safety must always come first, and I welcome the Secretary of State’s decision to act on the serious concerns raised by the police.” Deputy Collins said the decision should also serve as a reminder that the right to cultural expression and peaceful assembly must be exercised responsibly and with respect for the rights, dignity and safety of others. “Rights come with responsibilities. No community should be expected to endure intimidation, prolonged disruption or the threat of violence in order to accommodate a disputed procession. Equally, the authorities must apply the law fairly, consistently and without fear or favour. The objective must be to protect everyone, uphold the rule of law and ensure that disputes of this nature are resolved through lawful and peaceful means rather than confrontation on the streets.” Cllr. Shane P. O’Reilly, Independent Ireland Spokesman on Northern Ireland, said: “This decision must be welcomed as a necessary and proportionate response to a serious public safety situation. The Chief Constable’s assessment could not be ignored, and it would have been reckless to proceed with an operation carrying such a grave risk to public order, community relations and confidence in policing. The priority now must be to prevent further tension, protect residents and allow communities to move forward without further confrontation.” Independent Ireland believes that the protection of life, the maintenance of public order and the rebuilding of trust between communities must remain paramount. The decision should not be viewed as a victory for one side over another, but as a necessary step to prevent escalation and safeguard the wider public interest. The party calls on all parties involved to respect the decision, avoid inflammatory rhetoric and commit to peaceful engagement. The authorities must continue to act impartially, and political leaders must demonstrate the judgement and responsibility required to protect the peace. @MichaelC_IND_TD @cllrmsheehan @cccshanep
