The Coalition Paradox - shouting for cost savings while condemning every single saving proposal. Not so much a paradox, perhaps, but more just endless hypocritical, destructive negativity.

US budget deficit is US$2.0 trillion; 6.0% of GDP.
If Australia had a budget deficit of 6.0% of GDP in FY2026, it would be A$175 billion - instead, it was A$22 billion (0.8% of GDP)
Only once since WW2 has Australia had a budget deficit above 6% of GDP; and that was delivered by Treasurer Frydenberg duing the pandemic
(NYT) — The United States budget deficit approached $2 trillion in the 2026 fiscal year, its highest level since the pandemic ..

Less money on tolls, more money in your pocket.
That’s my pledge to people like Aaron who spend thousands on toll roads to run a business or get to work.
Labor will cap tolls at $30 a week in 2027.
Cars, utes, vans, motorbikes.
You’ll save as much as $5,000 per vehicle.
Only under a re-elected Labor Government.

Imagine thinking the leader of a political party who received a free plane from the richest person in Australia and complained about minimum wage increases for Australian workers is on the side of the Aussie battler.

No way will Jess Wilson keep her promise of free abortions! She answers to Abbot & Hanson …& It’s just a backflip ploy to win votes, so the Liberals can sell off Victorian public assets again, just like Kennett & Napthine did! 😇😇😇

It went so well last time they were in charge.
Note the quote of Laurie Oakes.
A decade after losing power, Tony Abbott, Peta Credlin and her husband, former Liberal Party federal director Brian Loughnane, are in charge federally and in key state branches, meeting at private clubs, deciding policy and purging moderates. trib.al/WZ8C4co

‘Australia’s budget would remain mired in deficit for more than 10 yrs under One Nation’s plans for lower migration, delivering an economic blow that would drive up national debt by an extra $275 billion.’
Yup.

Josh Frydenberg wrote off over $40 billion in JobKeeper payments illegally taken by corporate donors. It wasn't his money. It was yours. #auspol Is it any wonder we owe a trillion dollars?

Angus Taylor organised taxpayer grants for Brethren charity backing Pollie Pedal
Opposition Leader Angus Taylor arranged $33,000 in federal government grants for the religious charity providing food for his Pollie Pedal bike ride, with the money coming from the heavily criticised Morrison-era “stronger communities” program.
Taylor has defended the Rapid Relief Team charity, which is part of the controversial Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. The church ran an undisclosed multimillion-dollar pro-Peter Dutton campaign at the last election, which included paying neo-Nazis and other far-right figures to disrupt campaign events.
