Austria strongly opposes sanctions against International Criminal Court. There is btw an easy way to avoid prosecution: by not committing war crimes or crimes against humanity #ICC #internationaljustice
The latest sanctions against the International Criminal Court mark a new level of escalation.
They target the world’s only permanent international criminal court, which holds those responsible for genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes to account. For survivors of these crimes and the families of those murdered, it is often the last hope for justice. The sanctions undermine the international criminal justice system established by States Parties, including Austria, and, with it, their sovereignty.
Austria strongly rejects these measures. Together with our partners, we will continue to protect the Court and its personnel.

Austria’s position is clear: Israel must immediately withdraw the E1 settlement plans and halt settlement expansion in the West Bank.
Settlements are illegal under international law and undermine the two-state solution. Austria stands firmly behind the joint statement on the E1 plans.
