Domestic abuse can also affect young people. The #16DaysOfActivism campaign is a good opportunity to highlight sources of help and support so if you know anyone who might need to reach out, @GDASS_ can offer group work & 1:1 support for young people experiencing domestic abuse

It's live! Our podcast episode on the 16 days of action to end gender based violence is here: orlo.uk/oK4N6 Dani and Hannah from our Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence team discuss how to spot abuse, who may be affected and what support is available. Take a listen
When supporting a friend or family member who may be experiencing domestic abuse, it's important to understand how they might be feeling.
It takes a lot of courage to leave someone who controls and intimidates you. Try not to put pressure on your loved one to leave right away. Leaving is not a single act – it is a process that takes time. Let them know that you are there for them, no matter what they decide to do.
Today marks the start of #16DaysOfAction against gender-based violence. As ever @HopeHouseSARC
joins the campaign in standing up, speaking out and saying NO to violence against women! Read more 👉tinyurl.com/2zfp5es8 @GlosCC @glosrasac @GDASS_
Today marks the beginning of 16 Days of Action against Gender-Based Violence and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, running until 10 December, Human Rights Day.
Furniture and homeware retailer Dunelm, in collaboration with GDASS colleagues, will be spreading Christmas cheer again this year by providing gifts for children of domestic abuse survivors.
Thank you to Dunelm. The festive period for victims of domestic abuse and their children can be a lonely and challenging time of year.
