A new frontier in Vancouver. Building a sustainable & diverse future of innovation. We are the future of the cityšŸš€ Ecosystem Builders.

Five years ago, we set out to bring people together, intentionally. We walked into Frontier Summit with doom and gloom. We left with hope and agency. It was the moments in between, like a dinner party where everyone ends up at the kitchen island. 🌲 This is only the beginning.

Spoke with @GaryMarcus and @VeroniaDLCruz about the recent run of AI agents going off the rails. My take: these are not edge cases. They're the predictable result of building systems that act without understanding what they actually know. Until agents can reason about their own beliefs, handing them high-stakes decisions is negligence at best. The market is starting to recognize the cost. The ultimate measure of any intelligence is whether it can accurately self-evaluate, correct, and learn. Thanks @FrontierBC for hosting the important dialogues at #FrontierSummit2026

The people who built AI are now the ones warning us to slow down. Meanwhile the question nobody's asking got lost in the noise: what is all of this actually for? My new Substack piece on capitalism, ambition, and the moment we're in: danburgar.substack.com/p/wha…

Another young founder from Vancouver built his startup in the US instead of here. Not because we lack talent, because it lacks the foundation: capital, ambition, & belief. We keep exporting our best & importing regret. Fix the ecosystem or keep losing! betakit.com/gravitys-23-year…

Congrats to @andyburnham on becoming the United Kingdom’s new Prime Minister. In 2023, we had the privilege of hosting him at our event during SXSW, back when he was Mayor of Greater Manchester, even then, you could tell he was destined for even greater things!

Years ago, we set out to build an innovation hub for Vancouver. Yesterday, City Council passed a motion to explore how they can support it. One step. We’ve done our homework now doing the work. One step in a much longer vision. Let’s go.

Seeing is believing. We've toured Vancouver's mayor @KenSimCity over the years through the world's top innovation hubs, because you can't support what you haven't seen. Our vision to build an innovation engine, a center of gravityšŸ‘‡

Where does our grit and ecosystem come from? For our founder & CEO, @dburgar, it was an immigrant mom, a hard childhood, and a friendship that taught him what community really means. Here’s his story, a Q & A and how it built Frontier Collective šŸ‘‡ frontiercollective1.substack…

Unapologetically Canadian. Proud of getting to represent my country on numerous occasions, proud where I’m from, and proud of where we’re headed. I'll never not promote and push Canada forward. Happy Canada DayšŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ šŸ

We don’t just build ecosystems. We build interconnected ones. Innovation Missions are a core pillar of our platform — connecting founders and funders, collaborating across borders, building real community across the globe, not just within it. We’re amping this up. Where next?

Big congrats to Vancouver’s own @GeneralFusion — named the #1 GreenTech Company in the world by TIME Magazine. šŸ† CEO Greg Twinney is one of our advisors & brings exactly the kind of vision this ecosystem needs. Fusion isn’t science fiction anymore. šŸ”„
