Two questions…
1. How often are these random “insider” accounts right about anything?
2. Why do you even bother paying attention?

Vic was kind enough to join me on the podcast twice. He is a terrific storyteller, and having him on the pod was a highlight of our ten-year run. Like most people, I will certainly miss his "...make the final" and, or course, his voiceovers of the montages at the ned of events.

It's changing, Nic, but for a while there, in the late 2010s/early 2020s, most curling scrums were pretty formulaic, "media training" type stuff, especially during big events. "Sticking to our process" would have made for a great drinking game cue back then. :)

I'm at $2.9 mil in a "one and done" pool this season, sadly, none of that is real money. 😉

Totally agree!! The curling talent under the age of 30 that has stepped away from the sport in Canada over the past 3 or 4 years should be a huge red flag.

You missed a classic! Did flip over once or twice to see grass and the Blue Jays! 😄

The key, as always, is whatcomes next. Will curling fall into its usual rhythm of being one of the breakout sports of the Olympics only to fall into relative obscuirty amongst the larger sporting populous between Olympiads? Time will tell!

The good part… Marc does not care, nor should he.

If you give me a 10% commission, I'll forward you all my non-curling friends in my DM's doing the same thing! 😆
Ben is 64, probably still runs 100m in 12 seconds or so? Yup, Marc would likely be taking 2nd in that one! 🤣
Both parents come from lines of elite curlers in Switzerland so chances are that's a future Olympian right there. 😉🥌
I'm all good with it. That said, if we ever see a 5th-end break donnybrook between teams at the Brier, we'll know the curling emotion and intensity have "jumped the shark." 🤣

Tell that to Kevin Koe who was 43 before getting to the Olympics or Jenn Jones who was 40. Have a great evening!

I agree with Korey being a good rep for the sport. I do have to chuckle at your line about "how long he has waited for the chance to represent his country." He's 30! 🤣 Enjoy the final!

Two nice people... husband and wife. A second Olympics for her, a first for him. He'll also be playing on Canada's men's team at these Games.
