.@henrymcmaster ceremonially signs a new SC law allowing fictive kin — people who aren’t related by birth, adoption or marriage to a child but have a significant relationship with them — to receive resources + support from @SC_DSS if they serve as that child’s kinship caregiver.

We’ll see you in Charleston tomorrow night!
Always glad to spend my evenings hearing about Children’s issues @commchildren. I have attended all of them in person since coming to SC over 3 years ago. A lot of testimony in Florence centered on the lack of available mental health and other specified services for families.

Today & tomorrow are the last days for early voting. You don’t need an excuse like in the past. Anyone can go to the Easley library today & tomorrow from 8:30am-5pm. No need for excuses like in the past. It’s so easy a mom with a newborn can do it. I humbly ask for your vote.

The requirement isn't "new." It was added several years ago to avoid ideologically motivated but unqualified persons in the crucial position of Superintendent of Education.

Another Biden vaccine mandate has been stopped in its tracks by the court. The rule of law must prevail. We will continue this fight until no South Carolinian has to choose between the vaccine and their job.

Every family must be given the option of 5 day, face to face instruction & the science shows that this can be done safely in every community. I look forward to the Governor signing this and ensuring every school will be fully open for in-person learning now and into the future.

Today we are achieving a major accomplishment in South Carolina by planting three million tree seeds across our state. Green initiatives such as this are critical for South Carolina and I am grateful for citizens such as Tom Mullikin who was the architect of this effort.
