I've been looking at all the flooded wheat fields (below near my parents' home in Shropshire recently) and wondering what the heck must be happening to the soil microbiome, not to speak of the crops. What a disgusting winter it's been. Just as bad here in the Southwest.

My office window is less attractive and probably less functional (it doesn't keep the rain out, let alone the cold wind) but this view was outside it yesterday 🙂
