Perfect example of “nobody cares if you were right if you happened to be right years before they realized.” People just move on and act like they never disagreed. The musicians who pandered to fans by making fun of his response helped facilitate the downfall of their own industry
In May 2000, Metallica's Lars Ulrich delivered 13 boxes to Napster's office. Inside were the screen names of 335,435 users who had shared the band's songs for free. Napster agreed to block them. To many, it looked like Metallica against its own fans. In the video below, Ulrich explains why he did it. "Napster hijacked our music without asking." It started with a leak. Unfinished versions of "I Disappear," a song for Mission: Impossible 2, were already playing on US radio. The band traced them to Napster. On April 13, 2000, Metallica sued. In 48 hours, Ulrich said, over 300,000 users made 1.4 million free downloads of its music. Napster said it stored no songs and only connected users. Fans called it sharing. Ulrich rejected the word. "If I share a sandwich with you, I'm left with half a sandwich." That September, Napster's founder, Shawn Fanning, walked onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards in a Metallica T-shirt. He said he had borrowed it from a friend. Metallica and Napster settled in July 2001. That same month, Napster's free service went dark. In 2003, Apple opened the iTunes Store at 99 cents a song. Thirteen years later, Ulrich put it this way: "It's not about money. It's about control." He knows how he will be remembered: "It'll be in the first five sentences of my obituary." So was Metallica protecting its music, or turning on its own fans?

PSA for any fellow STHs: apparently this webpage is only available for three days. If you'd prefer a refund on postseason tickets you paid for instead of having it applied to the next season (which may not even be 2027), here's where to go: mlb.com/phillies/tickets/pos…

It’s no real mystery why this keeps happening. Most of lineup goes into “let me try to hit a 7-run homer” mode when facing elimination. First 2 innings, Turner, Harper & Stott all got themselves out chasing. Kerr was sharp. He also quickly saw he didn’t need to throw real strikes
Phillies offense in their elimination game the last 5 postseasons: 2026 WC: 2 runs, 6-for-31 (.194) 2025 NLDS: 1 run, 4-for-37 (.108) 2024 NLDS: 1 run, 4-for 31 (.129) 2023 NLCS: 2 runs, 5-for-31 (.161) 2022 WS: 1 run, 3-for-29 (.103) TOTAL: 1.4 runs per game, 22-for-159 (.138)

Right on, Corey. Phillies front office has just hammered us over the head with the same thing year after year after year. People are so sick of it.
The Phillies have a laundry list of things they need to accomplish this offseason. This is clearly the end of this core. And there's no reason to believe Dave Dombrowski is the guy to help you do it.

Lost 7-0 shortly after this. Utterly embarrassing for the entire organization. What a waste of time.
Jonesy joined the boys to talk about their wild run to end last season and what's ahead for the Flyers! 🔥

Where all those mealy mouthed, apologetic Phillies fans now? The ones that told us back in May and June that "it's a long season" and "don't worry, everything is going to be okay" and "you're just being negative" ? We straight up told every single one of you that this team was incapable of putting together a long sustained playoff run. And the reason we told you that is because we've already seen them fail three times. It was 100% Insanity to believe that minimal changes to the starting lineup and another bargain basement outfielder. We're going to make a difference. And then the bargain basement outfielder got hurt and was lost for the season. We went out and signed the so-called "best reliever in baseball" he was absolutely trash and then he got hurt. Yet the manager at the time had the the balls to insult the Fan's intelligence by Victory lapping the fact that they changed over 23% of the roster. Not one of us gave a shit about guys 13 to 26. We care about guys one through nine and those are the guys that were identical to the last set of guys that lost. I have so much more I wanna say.. but everyone else has already said it. I also spoke with my wallet. This fucking team isn't getting a dime out of me next year, lockout or no lockout. Cancelled my season tickets. If more folks did that, the team would change their tune real quick. It's time for Dumbo to go and it's time for that bubble headed buffoon, know nothing, does nothing hitting coach Kevin Long to go too.

And now Tubby in full ass kissing mode mid inning. 7th inning, season slipping away, and he decides now is the time to tout what a great franchise this is. This moron has zero feel and needs to be dismissed immediately.

🇮🇹 THE TIMES PICKED 5 PLACES YOU SHOULD VISIT IN ITALY - AND MOST TOURISTS OVERLOOK THEM. Forget Venice, Rome and the Amalfi Coast for a moment. Travel expert Julia Buckley, writing for The Times, highlighted five Italian destinations - plus an extra pairing - that show a very different side of the country, from Renaissance towns to volcanic islands. The selection stretches from north to south: 🇮🇹 Genoa: grand palaces, narrow medieval caruggi, one of Europe’s largest historic centres and a city deeply shaped by the sea. 🇮🇹 Pienza: the Tuscan Renaissance ideal made real, surrounded by the rolling landscapes of the Val d’Orcia. 🇮🇹 Mussomeli: deep in Sicily, dominated by its dramatic medieval castle built directly into the rock. 🇮🇹 Urbino: one of Italy’s great Renaissance cities, famous for the Palazzo Ducale and its connection to Raphael. 🇮🇹 Valtiberina: a quieter corner of Tuscany shaped by medieval towns, forests, art and the upper Tiber Valley. 🇮🇹 Pantelleria: a volcanic island between Sicily and Tunisia, where black lava landscapes meet vineyards, natural hot springs and the Mediterranean. Six very different versions of Italy. And almost none of them are the places international tourists usually think of first. Maybe that’s exactly the point. Source: SiViaggia, reporting on The Times.

Brodes believes the Flyers skipped a crucial step in their rebuild. "I don't want to act like they're a dysfunctional mess because that's not the case. But to win in this league, I think they skipped a major step in the rebuild. You have to land your Leo Carlsson or your Celebrini first, then build around that because it's so hard to find players like that."

Another point re: Flyers coming up short on Carlsson: it’s obvious that their apparent financial clout is not a determinative factor. ANA is talked about as a “have not” org that operates on a thin-line budget and “can’t afford the bonuses.” That was proven totally inaccurate.

Can it be any more obvious? This is not rocket science.

You botton out. You draft your 1C , 1D and 1 Winger. Sign your core . Make trades and signings to supplement your core

Right on:
Brodes unloads on the Flyers' front office over its handling of the Leo Carlsson situation. "I need a real, legitimate superstar. That's what I need. I demand it."

In a pivotal offseason Danny addressed: backup goalie. 7th defenseman. 4th liners. If Joseph Woll is the prize of the offseason, Briere needs to be heavily scrutinized.
