From a @Flashstake perspective, here are a few hopefully unbiased thoughts =) First off, while being a first-mover can provide a boost, I don't think this holds much weight. Google, Uniswap, Facebook, Aave, Lido, etc -- none of them first. Being first isn't what matters. Being the best product that solves the biggest problem for the most amount of users is what matters. In short, I think Pendle has done that better than Flash 1.0 Their team has executed beautifully and really have a good beat on who their target user is (constantly see @Rightsideonly and team hustling) Flashstake and Pendle, while in the same general arena of a massively growing market, are positioned in quite the opposite direction. Pendle - Positioning: Get a discount - More sophisticated trader focused - Great supply side tooling (LPs) Flashstake - Positioning: Upfront yield - More retail/consumer focused (think what Uniswap v1 did to trading) - Focused on demand side UI/UX (stakers) More so in the early days, but Flashstake has also experienced quite a "too good to be true" hurdle to get over. Educating users on how "upfront yield" is possible is a much bigger task on user trust than "get a discount". With the launch of Flash 2.0, the directions of Pendle vs. Flashstake are moving even further away. Further doubling down on creating a *simple* to understand dapp anyone can use, fTokens (similar to Pendle YTokens) are being completely removed. Speculating on interest rates is no longer a focus/need in Flash 2.0 Last, but definitely not least, it's hard to ignore the power of veTokenomics. Pendle introduced vePENDLE early. $FLASH is still on the horizon =) Overall, I hope and believe both can/will be successful in their own rights -- especially as DeFi matures.
