A man in Australia asked his agent (Claude running on OpenClaw) to book him a spot in a popular gym class. The agent found a software vulnerability that let it book the class weeks further ahead than should have been possible. When the user then asked if it could move him up the waitlist, the agent discovered the API had no authorisation checks on cancelling other people’s reservations, so it cancelled the person in the first spot and moved him up the list.
Some people will call this misalignment, but his agent was perfectly aligned to him - it was only trying to help its user get what he wanted. The most important thing about this story, in my opinion, is that it gives you a window into what is about to start happening on a massive scale once millions of people have an agent trying to get their beloved users the best seats, bookings, appointments or reservations through absolutely any means necessary.

my take is that:
1) issuance is already very, very low for ETH. lower than BTC, lower than almost every other blockchain, and lower than the supply of new gold added to the market every year
2) issuance is not a primary driver of ETH price at these already low levels. demand to hold ETH as a speculative SoV and use ETH for exchange and productive purposes drives ETH price. and like it or not, staking yield has become a key factor for why people choose to buy and (crucially) hold ETH
3) consistency and predictability in ETH's issuance policy is more important to creating market confidence around ETH (and by extension, Ethereum) than perfectly optimizing issuance
4) solo/small stakers shouldn't be allowed to be priced out of the market, because if shit really ever hits the fan, you're going to need them
5) we should focus on scaling Ethereum as a network, drive much more use to the network, charge appropriate fees to use it, and allow fee burn to continue to offset some amount of the already low issuance
In case you missed the next Ethereum drama
🚨 New EIP: Tapered Issuance Burn
We just submitted an EIP to ethereum/EIPs: a minimal, market-driven fix to Ethereum's issuance policy removing the incentive for stake growth beyond 50% of ETH supply.

Best governance is no governance
Craziest thing I've seen in a while:
• Someone buys $4M worth of BONK
• Then posts a DAO proposal asking to transfer $20M in BONK to themselves
• Waits 7 days without anyone noticing
• Then votes "yes" with their own BONK holdings, and the proposal passes
• $20M is transferred to them
And now the Bonk team has suddenly realized they lost $20M.
This wasn't even a hack.
The proposal passed because no $BONK holders checked the governance forum.
Insane to see the current state of DAOs.
