NEW REPORT:
The # of people in prison & jail doesn’t even begin to capture the reach of the criminal justice system in the US. We provide a more complete picture by including the # of people under probation/parole - systems that often replicate prison conditions in the community.

Watch this short film about Calvin Duncan’s decades long fight to get the Supreme Court to end racist laws that allow Black jurors to be silenced. He won. And then we got to work with him to ensure people actually got free. Produced this film:

In a cruel and unusual opinion: US Supreme Court just ruled a few thousand people can die in prison despite having unconstitutional convictions. Edwards v. Vannoy. People Power is greater than courts; we need to mobilize. #Louisiana #CJReform

Shameful day for justice in Louisiana.
How can we admit that non-unanimous juries are born from a crucible of racism and slavery, yet say that those convicted by NUJ don't deserve a second look?
#SCOTUS this is a blatant miscarriage of justice.
SCOTUS rules that last year's decision in Ramos v. Louisiana (which said the Sixth Amendment establishes a right to a unanimous jury in both federal and state courts) does NOT apply retroactively to convictions that became final before the Ramos decision. supremecourt.gov/opinions/20…
