Our Firefighters have been battling to extinguish a fire at St Andrew's Church throughout the night, after multiple calls came in before midnight.
Thankfully, there have been no casualties and all persons have been accounted for, but sadly the church roof is severely damaged.

Tragically, three more Firefighters have died while tackling the wildfires sweeping Europe, this time on the island of Crete and on the Greek mainland. Our hearts go out to their families, and to the Hellenic Fire Corps, at this terrible time.

It’s with the deepest regret that we have heard of the death of Beccy Barr - mother, firefighter and invaluable member of the FRSAs executive committee. We will very much miss Beccy’s energy and enthusiasm. On behalf of all in the FRSA we offer our profound sympathy to Beccy’s family, friends and colleagues.
I’m sharing the very sad news that Beccy passed away peacefully this morning. She spent her last few days at @SJHospice who provided the most dignified & compassionate care to Beccy & her whole family. Donations to the hospice can be made in Beccy’s memory. ❤️

There are changes we must make to address issues across our ageing estate. For example, we have hundreds of buildings without dignified facilities or sufficient showering facilities.
Doing nothing is not an option.
Help to shape our #FireScotFuture.
