Annual reminder that structural firefighting gear (โtunic & leggingsโ) is not suitable for wildfires etc. itโs too hot for tunics, so FFs naturally take them off leaving themselves in Tshirts, exposed to embers and other risks. lightweight Nomex, p3 filters & F2 style helmets FTW โ at Islington, London
I see wildfire PPE is getting some attention now that @fbunational and @BBCNews picked up on it
Iโve been shouting about this since 2008 but this is the earliest post I can find ๐.
I guess the UK fire service is too busy spending money on Consultant reports to notice
Also, why are the firefighters wearing structural firefighting gear? Lightweight, breathable Nomex workwear and a @MSAsafety F2 X-TREM helmet is what we use in Greece. Iโd hate to wear such heavy restrictive kit when navigating this terrain.
Nice of this book to include an interactive waterfall chart showing the cumulative effect of progressing through chapters!

Always a proud moment to see my teams hard work making it to the news, this time via our important #ChargeSafe campaign
E-bikes offer an easy, sustainable way to get around London. But with Black Friday and Cyber Monday fast approaching, @LondonFire is urging Londoners to be mindful when purchasing these vehicles. E-bike battery charging is one of the fastest growing causes of fires in London.
Thanks Prof!

@FireDataGuy, special thanks to you and your team at LFB for all the help you provided making sense of the database.
Wow @bluelightcard sure is popular today
Strange way to honour the poor little girls #southportattack

๐๐ผ but we should really invest in lightweight wildfire PPE (Nomex workwear and MSA Gallet F2 helmets like we use in Greece) Canโt imagine discomfort working in structural firefighting gear, forearms not protected from embers. Slips trips and falls also a risk on unstable ground xitter.cf/manchesterfire/status/โฆ

I have to ask, what are employers doing to keep employees safe from incidents like these? Does duty of care extend to commuting? If not commuting, what about business travel? Something has to changeโฆ โ at Islington, London

Youโre absolutely right @XNews. 250 million people use X every day. 550 million people visit the global town square every month.
On average, users spend 30 minutes a day on X.
