President Emmanuel Macron has condemned what he calls “unacceptable and stupid comments from foreign leaders” about the ongoing protests in France.
Macron said Wednesday that foreign leaders — including those "on the other side of the Atlantic" — were seeking to exploit France's tense social climate for political gain following a weekend of street violence and looting.
Protests over soaring living costs have led to widespread rioting and looting that have drawn worldwide attention and shocked many French citizens. President Trump has used the violence to rally his political supporters, making unsubstantiated claims that "migrants" and "jihadists" are responsible for the unrest, and urging Macron to "close your borders and take control before it is too late."
And yet, somehow, starting next year they will very likely be in control of both houses of Congress!
😱🤦♂️🤮
"I think the Democratic Party is in the worst place it's ever been, in the 250-year history of the country."
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman delivers a scathing assessment of Democrats, describing the party as "crazy, radicalized" and "anti-American."
Ackman acknowledges that there are still high-quality Democrats in Congress but argues the party as a whole has lost its way.
He also singles out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a politician he says he once respected, accusing him of compromising his values to protect his political career.
His criticism extends beyond Washington. See what Ackman says about New York City's mayor and his own political ambitions: foxnews.com/media/bill-ackma…

Im the biggest @Metallica fan anyone knows. Over 50 shows. Fanclub member in my 30th year. Some of the biggest shows from coast to coast. I've defended them to hell & back.
Just sold my Spehere tickets. Made nothing. Wanted them gone.
Fuck James Hetfield.
Fucking loser.
About 200 shirts, 20+ event-specific posters, 50+ shows and a literal lifetime of undying support. Spent probably close to $100k on Metallica in my 30+ years as a fan.
Id say im a pretty big fucking fan.
And I always will be.
Cliff would be disgusted with James.
If Shane Gillis were to come back to SNL, “I’m sure we would have a conversation … like a little kid” about what he could have done differently, @nbcsnl cast member @KenanThompson tells @sarafischer at #MediaTrendsLive.
this California wealth tax thing is just incredible.
so in October 2025, a California healthcare union proposed a "one time" 5% tax on any billionaire's wealth. the ballot measure will be voted on next month. In early December 2025, California announced that it would be a retroactive tax if passed, applying to anyone with CA residency as of Jan 1, 2026. The objective is to pay for Medi-Cal, California's incredibly dysfunctional healthcare system. (which also functions as a glorified welfare apparatus, but that's a discussion for another time).
polls reveal that the CA electorate is split around 50/50 on the tax, but prediction markets only give Prop 40 a ~23% chance of passing (there are competing measures on the ballet that would nullify it).
there are 200 billionaires in CA, worth collectively somewhere between $2.3 and $2.6 trillion. 5% of that is around $100b, accounting for a small amount of attrition. proponents of the tax forecasted a significant windfall, assuming only a 10% departure rate.
supporters thought they were being clever with the retroactive concept. no billionares would leave CA in the few short months between the tax being proposed and the residency cutoff date, without the tax even having passed yet, right?
well as it turns out, they did.
a new paper [1] from two academics at Stanford called "The Net Present Value of the California Billionaire Tax Act", argues that not only did more billionaires leave due to the proposed tax than its proponents expected, but that the value of the tax, if it does pass, is actually negative.
proponents of the tax only assumed 10% avoidance, that is, only 10% of the taxable base of targeted billionaires would leave CA within the very short Oct-Dec 2025 window. Jaros and Rauh, the Stanford academics, find that a lower bound of 28.6% of the taxable base managed to leave.
just based on known departures, those departures total $577b in net worth, or $28.8b in potential tax lost. this of course does not capture everyone (many left without announcing their departure), so the authors normalize to departure rates estimated from other wealth tax events, and apply other discounts for litigation, arriving arrive at a figure of only $28-$36b in forecasted tax revenues.
but this isn't all! all of the income taxes paid by the departed billionaires are also forsaken. the authors estimate that CA billionaires pay $3.3- 5.8b in annual income taxes. they assume a midpoint of $2b lost in annual collections from departed billionaires. the net present value of that lost income stream is -$68.9 billion.
so when you add it all up you get:
+ $30b one-time tax windfall (estimated)
- $69b in present value of lost future income taxes
= - 38.9b overall net present value of the tax
of course, this analysis is highly estimate driven. the authors simulate the parameters 100k times and find a negative NPV of the implemented tax 85 percent of the time.
and if the tax doesn't pass, which it's not looking like it will, California still ended up losing at least $577b in departed net worth, and they have permanently poisoned the well with entrepreneurs who will now worry about future wealth taxes.

President Trump announced a new federal fraud whistleblower incentive program that he says will pay Americans, including journalists, a 1% commission for reporting fraud and corruption involving taxpayer dollars.
"If you turn somebody in and you, let's say, report, and you find $1 billion, we are giving a commission to that person of 1%. It's a lot of money," Trump said.

Breaking News: Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire and the former mayor of New York City, gave Democrats $80 million in a late push to help them take the House in the midterms, his team told The New York Times.
A woman defended a Paris supermarket against looters on Saturday, October 17, as ongoing nationwide protests against the cost of living and school conditions exploded over the weekend. More than 2,500 people have been arrested in the unrest and nighttime curfews went into effect on Monday night in big cities including Paris, Bordeaux, Nice and Lyon as police sought to curb the unrest. Some demonstrators targeted businesses and government buildings, while protesters accused police of using excessive force.

I hate capitalism. It's brainwashed everyone into believing our purpose is to buy and sell, and to be bought and sold.

Communists of America is now enrolling people into Communist schools to train them on strategy to overthrow America and Capitalism
Why are we allowing this??
“The Revolutionary Communists of America will be hosting the Los Angeles Marxist School — This is the first of 3 events held in the largest cities in the US where communists from across the country will be gathering to discuss Marxist philosophy, revolutionary history and strategy”
The people who seek to overthrow America are no longer hiding, it’s right out in the open
This is literally what the Patriot Act is meant to stop, but instead they’re allowed to open schools and train people to overthrow our country
Over 100 million people have died to communism and we’re allowing schools to open to train people to become communists to overthrow America…. Make it make sense
How can anyone argue against a 24-team playoff after this weekend? Auburn beat Georgia, Florida stunned Texas, Tennessee dominated Alabama, and BYU took down Notre Dame. Give me more of these matchups, especially with the first two rounds on campus. It's a no-brainer.
People like Elon have extracted roughly $90T from the bottom 90% of Americans.
Do the math.
Elon Musk just announced he is going to donate over $10 billion by giving 1 share of SpaceX to every child born next year.
The best part is he will donate it directly to each child without any non-profit or NGO being able to take a cut.
Incredible gift done in a powerful way.

If the VP wants to remain friends with Carlson, an individual who is thoroughly evil and full of hate for our country, for millions of Christians and, of course, Jews, and who is openly and publicly diabolical with his selection of guests and messaging, not to mention has made the most vile personal attacks against our president, then the VP will have to run for the GOP nomination with that anchor around his neck. He will have to defend it over and over again, as will his most vocal supporters. Should he receive the nomination, it will only get worse. But it's up to him.
President Trump made his decision long ago, and publicly condemned Carlson. It's not about loyalty. It's about right versus wrong and on what basis friendships are built. Yes, the VP will be judged, at least in part, by his very close association with Carlson, as all politicians are examined. To be clear, most Americans do not tolerate the kind of shockingly radical and evil views held by Carlson. They certainly do not befriend such people. The likes of Carlson are not new to our politics.
Tens of thousands of rioters are approaching the Louvre. They have vowed to burn it down along with EVERYTHING in it. You are an advisor to the French govt. Security informs you that the ONLY way to stop the rioters is to gun them all down. There would be a minimum of 1000 deaths. Do you advise security to shoot?
