I’m afraid this is not good enough. I have to call this in. Where are the women? Representation matters. For all of us who work in EDI spaces we would not counter an all male panel. We cannot let this carry on. How are we ever going to move the dial on gender equality if we do?

Rebels with a cause: in the 50s they fought the ban on women playing in FA grounds, went on a global winning spree, played to capacity crowds, won 50 trophies, and had to wash in a duck pond. Meet the Corinthians Ladies Football Club.

We were proud to have Corinthians Ladies as guests of honour at yesterday’s match. Corinthians Ladies unofficially represented England as far back as 1957. The team from Didsbury toured the World and won 50 trophies in 20 years all while Women’s football was banned by the FA.
The documentary We Were the Champions hopes to tell their story for the first time. The ten surviving members have begun to have their story told with filming starting at our own Brookburn Road. The documentary crew @filmsnotwords are hoping to raise the money needed to finish the film.
We wore a one-off Corinthians - We Were the Champions shirt which were auctioned off to supporters. Over £1000 was raised and has been donated to @filmsnotwords and their attempts to get the documentary finished.
Thank you for joining us ladies.
