If you want people to listen to your opinions, try presenting them as advice. Opinions are easy to discount because they sound self-centered: "I'm expressing myself." Advice is more trustworthy because it's other-focused. It conveys an intent to help: "Here's an idea for you."

Men who act like jerks are more likely to get away with sexism. When a man is rude to other men, people are more likely to overlook his misogyny. They think he's just an asshole. We shouldn't give pricks a pass. Treating everyone poorly is not an excuse for degrading women.

Most leaders value loyalty. Great leaders put a higher premium on integrity. Loyalty is allegiance to power. You're expected to show deference and follow orders. Integrity is allegiance to principles. You're expected to challenge orders that violate your mission or values.
