The Colts are objectively in an awful spot
Firing Chris Ballard is a huge step in the right direction but he pushed all the chips in prior to leaving
- Jets own Indianapolis’ 2027 1st
- Daniel Jones was extended this offseason
- Alec Pierce (hurt) is wildly overpaid ($114M)
- Won't get the return they paid for Sauce
- Quenton Nelson’s contract expires in 2026
Teams should be blowing up Indianapolis’ phones as early as today and inquiring for Jonathan Taylor, Quenton Nelson, Josh Downs, Laiatu Latu, Grover Stewart, DeForest Buckner, and Charvarius Ward
Notable Information:
- Colts have a potential OUT from Daniel Jones contract after this season (2 Years, $88M)
- Translation: Daniel Jones will be cut this offseason
My final thoughts:
Chris Ballard is firmly in the conversation for the worst GM in NFL history.
He is the only GM over the last 45 seasons to keep his job for over a decade with less than 3 playoff appearances and less than 2 playoff wins.
Shane Steichen has been dreadful to be blunt.
He’s in his 4th season and is 7-24 against teams with a record of .500 or better.. with 0 playoff appearances as well, we’ve seen more than enough.
Start Anthony Richardson for the rest of the season, I know he’s not the answer but immediate changes need to be implemented.
The most realistic way to turn this franchise around (in my opinion that no one asked for) would be to:
- Offer Peyton Manning a deal he can’t resist for the GM role (landing him is a pipe dream)
- No I don’t expect Peyton to takeover as their new GM but you need to prioritize him during this search
- Other potential GM’s I’d like to see interviewed include: Alec Halaby (with full confidence), John McKay, or Mike Bradway (in that order)
- Draft a legitimate starting QB in the 1st round of 2028, hopefully Indianapolis is selecting in the top 10
- Hire Brian Flores (Minnesota’s Defensive Coordinator) as Head Coach
Colts fans, the rebuild is just beginning

i think we might be seeing some unintended consequences of “Cash for Klunkers”
BREAKING: America’s $1.7 trillion auto loan market is headed for a crash, per Reuters.
Auto loans are now one of the biggest sources of household debt, bigger than credit cards.
And the strain is showing: 1 in 5 Americans is behind on at least one loan, the highest since 2010, and the average car on the road is now nearly 13 years old, a record.
That’s either the greatest coincidence of all time or LMFAO #Jets
.@RichCimini asked #Jets HC Aaron Glenn about his viral halftime interview with @NFLonCBS where he said he thought they were getting the ball in the second half vs the #Patriots & if he could clarify.
Before Glenn got a chance to respond the live feed of the press conference cut to black…🤔

I can't really say I'm unhappy with Geno so far. Expectations were pretty low to start with, and I think he's outperformed what most thought he would be. He's (mostly) protected the football and made some good throws, something we saw zero of last year.
That said, the thing that I'm most surprised about is his decision making. I would have expected a guy at his age and experience level to see the defense and make the appropriate adjustments, even if they can't always execute it. But he holds the ball way too long, looking indecisive. Yesterday, on many of the Pats blitzes the o-line did give him enough time to get the ball out and he just didn't.
The other thing....on these fourth down calls...I guess we can't know for sure if those are the calls coming in from Reich or if Geno is changing the play at the line, but I would have expected a veteran QB to see the defense is selling out against the run up the middle and call something else, not just blindly executing the play called with all evidence of possible success to the contrary. Yes, he is limited on what he could call based on the personnel on the field at the time (e.g., Tim Patrick in lieu of Garrett Wilson), but maybe audible to something off tackle? A jet sweep? Just something that isn't running directly into what they are telling you they are going to do. #Jets
Is this bad? I’m thinking this might be bad? #Jets
That is likely good enough with a 2009-level defense but this is not that.
I get the griping on the defense (and specials, which suck this year), especially late in this game but I keep coming back to the #Jets having 11 touchdowns in 6 games and that just not being remotely good enough to be anything but 2-4

And the same Browns the Jets beat last week just beat the Ravens and are in first place in the AFC North.
Jets defense:
2nd in Yards per play
5th in PPG
3rd in Passing YPA
8th in 3rd down %
Drake Maye is facing another top defense. Remember this when they try to tell us the defense wasn’t good all along.

Unfortunately, this team is going to be “annoyingly mediocre“ this year… Which of course is a massive improvement over last year, but in some ways it’s going to be even harder to watch because they’re gonna stay in these games and make you think they have a chance, until they eventually get overtaken by the better team. #Jets

Close to sixty percent of the French economy is government spending. All else aside, the idea that burning down beautiful buildings in Limoges is the understandable consequence of “ruling class” disinterest is self-indulgent bullshit.
💯- Reich needs to fire his short game plays into the sun
#Jets calls to go for it were correct. The actual play calls are the problem. Frank Reich needs to end his fascination with 4th & 1 runs out of the shotgun.
I would love to pick the #Jets today but I just can't. That's not to say I don't believe they *can* win...I just think New England is a better team, playing at home, and the Jets would need almost every break to go their way....and when does that ever happen against the Patriots, especially in Foxboro?
That said, it is vitally important to what they are trying to do here that they not go out and get pasted 31-10. They need to play competitive football against a good team and I think they will...I suspect it will feel a little like the Lions game...never really feels like they are in control of the game, but they hang around until late where you're like "hey, they could steal this one"...then the Pats score a late TD to cover and put the game away.
I said 27-17 Pats the other day and I'll stick to that. Please note, nothing would make me happier than to be completely and totally wrong (in a good way, not in a Jets get their ass kicked way). #JetUp
