Apparently their suitcase containing the lubricating gel, whips, little blue tablets, open crotch tracksuit trousers, flap moisturiser and anal fungus spray has been lost by British Airways.

Thames Water is due to run out of money (again) over the next few weeks. A year and a half ago it was given a ยฃ3 billion bailout now it's asking for another ยฃ2.4 billion.

#newsnight Of course, I would have loved to work in my Degree specialism when I graduated in the 1980s, but had to take a non-related job to keep the wolf from the door. Thee was no support for us but there was a brain-drain to other countries. Brexit has probably halted that.
#newsnight The extension of working lives to 66/67 years probably has an impact on career progression for younger staff, thus not freeing up entry-level positions. Iโm at the upper end, would have loved to retire at 60 but canโt.

Not a Versace photoshoot, this portrait was taken 108 years ago, on Saturday 3rd March 1918. As the Great War raged, French photographer Paul Castlenau travelled to Arabia (in the area now known Jordan) to take this autochrome of Fayz Bey el Azm (one of the court entourage of Prince Faisal).
Fayz Bey el Azm was a Syrian. Many people aren't aware of the incredible genetic diversity within Syria. Light features like blue eyes and blonde hair are completely native to the region and have been since ancient times.
This portrait was taken using an early colour glass-plate process and isn't colourised.

Virunga National Park is pleased to announce that community trackers recently observed a new birth in the Humba mountain gorilla family. Ndala, a 12-year-old female, gave birth to a male infant.โ

With this new birth, the Humba family now numbers 19 individuals. This is the second birth recorded in the family in 2026 and the 16th among mountain gorillas monitored in the Mikeno sector since January.โ
