Rural PA stopped hoping for help from Harrisburg long ago. That needs to change. We need votes on bipartisan solutions. Learn more at https://xitter.cf/t.co/ck55P7lYKG.

This really captures the concern about redistricting & power. When leaders draw the lines, decide legislative budget & process & share out campaign millions with colleagues who do as they’re told, representation vanishes. The more we know, the more we see the need to change this.
Megan Griffin-Shelley is running unopposed for PA HD 148. We've seen a surprising number of FDPA volunteers run for elected office. Once we see how things work we see what needs to change. Have your own candidates responded? If not ask them why! Check here fairdistrictspa.com/take-act…

PA deserves a legislature that operates transparently, provides meaningful opportunities for legislation to receive hearings & votes and accounts publicly for hundreds of millions of dollars under its control. triblive.com/opinion/doug-we…

Yet more evidence that the PA legislature is dysfunctional, as we've said for years, because of #gerrymandering among other problems. Read the reports at fixharrisburg.com/
Inbox: Gov. Josh Shapiro has signed seven more laws, which puts the state legislature at 58 laws enacted this year. With just a handful of voting days scheduled, that means the Capitol is on track for its least productive two year session on record since 1975.

Hawaii has stopped Citizens United. Corporations in Hawaii can no longer spend money on elections. That's how it's done! Every state should follow suit. Let’s just make it a federal law. Period.

Only 11 town halls were scheduled nationwide for the entire August recess, per former USDA acting undersecretary Dawn Riley. The people who feed this country are asking Congress for something simple: sit down and listen. restoreamericanag.org

NEW: The U.S. was supposed to spend $40 billion to build internet in rural America, then Elon Musk got a huge chunk of that money redirected to Starlink. He made hundreds of millions, while countless people still don't have good internet. We went to Louisiana where kids can't do their homework, schools can't support their students, and businesses struggle without a reliable connection.

“Counties are working hard to get mail ballots to voters as early as possible. More than 30 counties have already begun mailing out ballots and voters are doing their part. This year, the % of ballots returned is far greater than the % of ballots returned at this point in 2022.”
Secretary Al Schmidt held a virtual media update on preparations for the Nov. 3 general election. This was the fourth in a series of weekly virtual updates to be held leading up to the election.

Congress has not worked enough days in 2026 to qualify for SNAP, just in case you were curious who was actually sponging off our tax dollars.

“We need transformational change in rural America.” Farmer Greg Gunthorp just revealed that farmers only get 14 cents of every dollar that consumers spend on food. Why? Corporate “consolidation and concentration.” The vast majority of farm profits are scooped up by a handful of massive corporations. “I think to fix the problems in rural America… there’s four means in which we make it so that local and regional processing and direct marketing is a possibility.” “Subsidy reform.” “Antitrust enforcement.” “Truth in labeling enforcement.” “Inspection reform.” “We can sit around and complain, and trust me, I do my fair share of that.” “The four packers own 86% of the beef supply.” “Almost half of the hog slaughter in the United States is controlled by foreign companies.” “We got to stay on these politicians and bureaucrats.” “They got to quit making every single decision… to encourage the status quo of agriculture.” “It’s time that they give independent agriculture some preferential treatment because I think that every consumer and every taxpayer expects that.” @GGunthorp @SawyerWhisler @TorkWhisler

Election officials already have a big job: making sure elections run smoothly & every voter can make their voice heard. They shouldn't have to spend time responding to threats and fighting misinformation from this administration. aljazeera.com/news/2026/9/16…
